Maidstone v Torquay United TUE 6th Feb

No wonder most people cannot stand Maidstone United fans (well, I can't anyway! and I'm sure there are a few more from the area where I live).. they think it's highly amusing that a young lad lost his life back in 1971 in Torquay.

Yep, it may well be 'tongue in cheek' after the incidents that 'allegedly' happened at Legoland during Yeovil's visit (with Yeovil fans 'claiming' that some scrotes were disrespecting the death of one of their former players) which lead to some ugly scenes during and after the game...

....but come on... a young lad died and it certainly isn't a topic for 'banter'. But, then again, I've never had anything but contempt for the majority of Maidstone fans so they'll just think it's funny in some kind of twisted way.

Not looking forward one bit to the game tonight. Yes, I'll be there... but more out of loyalty to OUR club than expecting any kind of entertainment from Johnson & Co.

Torquay United v St. Albans - 03rd February 2024.

Maybe he is contracted until the end of the season? Could it be that Osborne doesnt want to waste money sacking him now?

I can only imagine the size of that 'bonus' cheque handed over to Johnson at the end of the season...

''Well done, Gary''... **shakes his hand** ... ''You did it! I can't thank you enough. Can't stop, I'm off to a meeting with the Council Planning Dept.''

''But, Mr Osborne... Haven't I got a new contract to sign for next season?''... ''Oh, you won't be needing that...no-one will''

***as Osborne walks out of the building laughing his head off***

The Play Offs

brucie wrote: 01 Feb 2024, 13:11 Johnsons assembled squad is nothing short of a disgrace. He should hang his head in shame.
Oh, he'll pretend it hang his head in shame for the 'interviews' (sic)... then have a massive grin on his face when he turns away.

It seems like he's only here now to top up his pension pot. Period.

Don't get me wrong, I'd love us to get promoted this season (albeit through the lottery of the play-offs) but with Johnson's 'squad' I don't envisage cancelling any time off once the normal season finishes.

Torquay United v Dover Sat 20th

No, my medication is wearing off. But I'll be the one laughing when our new striker Marshall bags himself a double hat-trick and Halstead heads one in on the 99th minute with Dover scoring from the re-start with the last kick of the game which hits both posts before Marshall falls over his bootlaces and inadvertently heads it over the line.

C'mon lets face it... we're becoming a joke in this league so we might as well dream the impossible.

Seriously, we cannot lose to Dover. Anything other than a win is unacceptable. They're bottom for a reason.

But.... we are Torquay United so anything could happen on Saturday.

So here goes.... Torquay 7 Calais 1
