New role for Gary
I bet Cheltenham fans are relishing the thought of back-to-back relegations.

Ex-Gull watch
Corrected for you.MellowYellow wrote: ↑21 May 2024, 09:40 I am delighted for him. It still haunts me how Johnson mis-handled his development when he brought Lolos on in the 56th minute of the 1-1 draw at Wealdstone – and took him off again just 11 minutes later.
I, too, am delighted for him. It just goes to show what a decent manager can achieve.

New manager to be announced.
Having had a really sh!t couple of weeks (work-related) it is such a relief to finally get some good news for a change.
Thanks for everything Aaron and good luck wherever you find yourself next. And, welcome, to Paul Wotton, who I'm sure will get a great reception at TQ1.

Club Badge
Please no! No change to the badge.
My local team had their badge 'rebranded' recently from a version of the town's coat of arms to a monstrosity that looked like the Starbucks mermaid wearing a skirt and holding a volleyball with a pair of 'crab' hands... and as one supporter spotted it looked like a pair bollocks either side of her head...yes, it's that hideous.
So. Leave it alone!

RIP Paul Holmes
One of, if not the, best left backs I've seen play for Torquay.
Joined us from Doncaster in '88 and went on to play for Birmingham, Everton and West Brom before re-joining to us in '99.

Next season.
Feel free to quote me if I'm wrong (I usually am!)... but the team we played back in '94 in the FA Cup was 'Enfield FC'... the team facing Chatham in the play-offs is 'Enfield Town FC' who I think were formed in the early 2000s by supporters who were fed up with the owner of 'Enfield FC'standupsitdown wrote: ↑03 May 2024, 08:12 Winner of Chatham v Enfield play off will be in NLS next season.
I don’t think we’ve ever played Chatham but recall going to Enfield for an FA Cup match when we were 4th division and they were a good non league team.
So, by my reckoning, we've never played either of the two aforementioned clubs.

Torquay United v H&W Sat 20th Apr 3pm
What a difference it makes to go to Plainmoor (or any away fixture) and actually enjoy 90 minutes of entertainment.
No pressure. No stress (well apart from the hour detour at Sparkford which meant we arrived at Plainmoor with 20 mins to spare).
Tongue in cheek, I'd predicted 7-0 in the prediction league... I honestly thought it could have been that at half-time!
But that's it season over for another year, safety assured... now all we ALL want to know is who are the new owners, and, more importantly does my lawnmower need a service before the summer kicks in... **trundles off to shed**

FA Cup replays scrapped from next season
There's more chance of me winning the lottery on Saturday, the 50/50 draw at Plainmoor, and my son offering to buy me a pint!Brewers boy wrote: ↑19 Apr 2024, 09:14 IF. If all the clubs were to stick together and boycott it this year then there is a fair chance that this could be rescinded, or perhaps amended so that if both clubs in a tie could agree beforehand to not replay.
As long as the powder-puff girls blouses of the PL are happy, then why should the rest of us plebs even be given a second thought.

FA Cup replays scrapped from next season
So, in a nutshell, 700+ clubs have to bend over backwards and lose out on potentially lucrative replays so that the over-paid prima donnas of the PL can have a nice long summer holiday. Cheers FA. What a joke.

Oh, I'm sure there is Culmstock... it was more wishful thinking rather than anything else.culmstockgull wrote: ↑17 Apr 2024, 10:49 If only it was that simple, there may be a confidentiality clause between buyer and club until they have done due diligence.

Now that our league safety is secured, I'm sure the club would NOW love to tell us who our new owner(s) is/are.
