Where's the money going?

Taelee73 wrote: 24 Feb 2024, 13:27 WBW, how do you know today’s extra 2000 odd supporters won’t be enough to pay the wages? Do you know the ins and outs, especially with Johnson, Hanson, Edwards etc now off the bill?

2000 x £10 = £20,000 extra.
2000 x £15 = £30,000 extra.
2000 x £20 = £40,000 extra.

If this income buys us another week of time, then it’s precious money I’m grateful for.
Sorry mate, but you really are clueless if you think any of those amounts will even get close to covering a month's wages at a full time professional football club.
And you really think that the people you mention will not get paid?

Osborne gone!

Of course they will.....not!!! You really think someone is going to pay 5 million to repay Osborne and then take on all the debts and find the bond money for the league and find cash flow money?
Just let it go into admin.....debts cleared, apart from HMIC, pick it up for a song.

Where's the money going?

Just making the point that now Osborne has been drummed out of the club and that has been heartily approved by some, that the salaries need paying next week or admin beckons.

Where's the money going?

Wages need paying next Thursday. The gate money from todays game, excluding ST fans, won't begin to cover them.

Osborne gone!

DVNGull wrote: 24 Feb 2024, 12:21 I'm surprised there's still fans fawning over Osborne, it's no wonder why the council didn't engage on where the future was going given his track record.

Osborne saved the club for his own interests, not for anyone else. Good riddance.
Be interesting where this all leads. Fans of other clubs have drummed out owners with lots of money and almost without exception, those clubs have dropped like stones or disappeared altogether.

Osborne gone!

torregull wrote: 24 Feb 2024, 12:12 Council wouldn't engage with him? Osborne didn't even turn-up when Edwards ' presented his stadium proposals to them recently.
Why should he? Edwards was his effective representative.

Where's the money going?

If everyone leaves without replacement, there's no club. Someone has to do the jobs until the next donor is installed

Torbay Council

As an aside, why do fans think the freehold of Plainmoor is worth a lot? If its not used as a football stadium, the only possible use for the site is development.
That would be affordable housing or industrial units. Can't think of much else and neither would be particularly lucrative.
Perhaps the council realise the value they would get is not worth the abuse that would follow. Trust me, if it was worth many millions, it would have been sold!! The council is in the mire.

Osborne gone!

Taelee73 wrote: 24 Feb 2024, 11:19 He hasn’t walked away without his £5 million yet, it was a loan to Torquay United, that’s all. It would be great if he wrote it off, but you’d think he’ll recoup as much as he can.
Now you're not being serious surely?
The club is struggling to cover each day's requirements, hence the possible/probable administration. Where on earth is he going to get his 5 mill back from?
Get real please.

Osborne gone!

I cannot believe some of the responses of "fans".
Osborne saved the club from oblivion when nobody else was remotely interested in investing. He's thrown away well over 5 million quid and got nothing but abuse for his money. The council wouldn't even engage with him on where the future is going.
He didn't go to games, was the biggest moan. Well neither does the owner of Man City, or Spurs, or Arsenal etc etc. It means nothing.
Osborne has been driven out, be careful what you wish for guys. His only mistake was not getting rid of Johnson two summers ago.

You can bury your heads in the sand if you want, for as long as you want, but as long as the owner of the freehold is unable to invest, then there is no future.
