Dartford v Torquay United, 25th Nov 2023, 3pm

Yep. So far we have lost at Aveley, Hemel, Weston, Hampstead and now Dartford. Drink that in. If we are to have any chance of going up, these games have to return points. We are nowhere near good enough.

I’ve not been exactly pro Johnson but wasn’t totally wanting him to go, but it’s becoming untenable- We should be top 2 minimum and we’re nowhere near. He has to go before play offs are out of reach
He should have gone this time last year. This result won't make any difference, he appears untouchable and we are suffering because of it. We're stuck with him.

Portugull, I think you are being very generous, , so we wait another 3 or 4 weeks?? I wish I had your optimism. If we are relying on Hall and Dawson to pull us out of this mess, we really are in trouble. How long until Dawson is actually match fit for 90 minutes? Christmas? As for Hall, I have loved him as a player and what he has done at TUFC, but his legs have gone. Neither of them should have been retained. Losing Jarvis for any more than 2/3 games is a disaster. I agree, missing Lapslie big time.
Barring an unlikely implosion by Yeovil, the automatic spot for promotion has gone and we are only in October. I have very little faith in Johnson turning this disaster around and, sadly, even less faith that the club will act to change it.

As the commos say, if this doesn't bring a change, nothing will. Everybody has the right to an opinion, that is the point of a forum, however, anyone who still.supports Johnson and sees him as the man to take us forward, I would be interested to hear their arguments. WSM was probably one of the worst performances I have ever witnessed but this sounds equally as bad.

This sounds absolutely dreadful.again. As things stand we are out of the play-off positions and 10.points behind Yeovil. Shameful and the teflon Johnson remains..

The way Jarvis hobbled off the pitch last night, I'd be amazed to see him start Saturday.. if not, and if Lapslie is still out, then we will struggle to fill the bench. Then of course, there is Moxey who also left the field very gingerly last night. Incredible that we have reached November with so little use of the loan market - really what is going on? We have to guess because sure as hell we aren't going to get any information out of the club. I wonder if Johnson will do his usual press call tomorrow? If so, how on earth will the club look to spin last night's abject performance? Of course all of this is made worse by our rivals up the road in Yeovil showing us how a club should be run and managed.

Torquay United v Maidstone Sat 14 Oct KO 3pm

The same lack of information which has been a feature of this administration and management all along. I can kind of understand Johnson not wanting to put too much information out there a couple of days before a game - though even this is questionable. However, when you think of long term absences, I mean has there ever been anything officially announced about Dawson's absence?? I'm not sure there has - that is bizarre, as if he is not even at the club?! Surely something along the lines of he had an op in the summer and should be back training/playing in (insert month here!). Of course, it also begs the question why the hell did the club sign him if they knew he would be out for a significant chunk of time?

Dave wrote: 15 Oct 2023, 08:24 I have the upmost respect for all opinions, and your post is well written and has balance, but I most take issue with your post in general.

For a start your almost certainly going to be correct to suggest we'll finish in the play-offs, however this will be largely down to the number of part time teams in this division who don't have a third of our recourses, and simply will not have the quality in their squads to match us over 90 minutes.

Whilst we'll finish in the play-offs, so will Maidstone, you tell us on another day we would have won, well I'd like to point out we played Maidstone in the league and lost 0.1, seven days later we played Maidstone in the cup and lost 0.2 so we did play them on another day and got the same result, so it's quite likely to win the play-offs we will have to beat Maidstone who've already beaten us twice on our own patch, should they finish above us, we'd have to beat them on their pitch.

If this isn't setting off red flags in the minds of every single TUFC fan, then there are no more words I can write on this subject.

Your probably quite correct to suggest there's no more money in the pot, but there's no more money in the pot for 'all' the wrong reasons, and it's 100% down to Gary Johnson, he's taken probably the second biggest budget in the NLS and driven it straight of the edge of a cliff.

For a start how much is Pete Johnson getting paid? for what value, who's he recruited in 5 years ? all our best players during the Johnson reign have come from Lee Johnson not Pete Johnson.

You tell there's no more money for loans, but we have 9 midfielders on the books.

You tell us pathetic to want GJ out in one sentence, then tell us another sentence we need a creative midfielder, we already have 9 midfielders on the books, how many more should we need if the manager had got his recruitment correct in the first place.

You correctly point out we do not have a single right back in the squad, yet we have 9 midfielders in the squad, who's fault is that ?

We only have 2 strikers currently being run into the ground, yet we have 9 midfielders, I'm labouring the point aren't I.

If any TUFC fan genuinely can't see we're need of a fresh pair of eye's, then, again I'll say there are no more words I can write.
Great post- spot on Dave.

Torquay United v Maidstone United, Saturday 7th October, 3pm

Calling Ash a Southern league player is a bit harsh Brucie, he can finish and has scored a few decent goals already this season. However, you are correct in that Johnson has recruited poorly yet again. He has obviously blown big money on Stobbs, Collins, Hall, Lapslie, Moxey and probably Dawson, more than likely leaving little else for anything like a fit for purpose defence. Thank goodness for Halstead who has already saved us numerous times this season. As for the squad players, honestly, when was the last time you looked at the bench and felt confident there was anything on there to change/affect a game? In the main it has been like that for two seasons now!
I have nothing personally against Johnson, for a season and a half he was great for us but sadly he has now long run his course. As has been pointed out so many times before, at 99 out of 100 clubs he would have been shown the door months ago. Sadly we are the exception and he continues to be paid (no doubt handsomely for this level) with little sign of sustained improvement.
We are 4 points from Yeovil at the start of October. Many more weeks of this kind of performance and it will quickly become much more and that guaranteed promotion will be gone. Stay in this league for any more than one or two seasons and that will be TUFC gone as the club we knew, if it has not disappeared already, and yet nobody seems prepared to act and at least try a change at the top. The club is currently getting what it deserves.

There will of course always be defeats but the manner of this particular one is hideous. We can't even do the basics. Despite the results, we haven't had one decent performance so far. Johnson can have no excuses, his squad, his coaching and his recruitment. Time to go.

Yet another very poor performance so far, can we not at least test their keeper? Dear God, we are meant to be a professional team.
