ticket pricing

Hi all, Im sure if any of your have seen me on here before, you will know that I come from the school of thought that football should be affordable to all.
In Torquay there are 1000s of us 20-30somethings who basically earn shite wages, work shite hours and therefore find it impossible to come see all the games live and end up listening to Radio Devon and/or Flashscores.com
I beleive Plainmoor still pulls around 1900 fans on average which I am most proud of and think that is a stand out figure for clubs in our position. However how about we drop the price of Pop Side tickets to "A Suggested £5" for the next couple of home games only. Anyone who can afford it and doesnt mind paying the £15+ it costs can of course pay that but this would enable 100s of others to get involved and will hopefully go a long way to building a big-game atmosphere for the home games.

We need the more support at the ground cheering on the team the better.

The only reason I was able to get into watching footy at Plainmoor when I was very young (back in the Hodges days and bit before) was because they gave tickets away FREE! - I became a lifelong fan and actually didnt miss a home game for 4 years back then.
The stadium holds over 6000 so I dont see it being skin of anyones nose by attracting nearer 3000 and charging less. - Find other ways to make money rather than trying to charge Premier League prices at non-league or even League 2 games!!

Yes, we are historically a bigger club. Means the sum total of eff all when it comes to 90 minutes on a Tuesday night though, doesn't it? I'm sure Stockport, in the conference North, could teach you a few lessons on humility.

I actually think we'll achieve a mid-table finish and although Im not 'worried' about our league position, I still cannot stand to look at the table and see it.
Dover are not even a fully professional club. The majority of their players are part-time with full time tradesman jobs etc. TUFC is a football league club in my eyes and always will dwarf the likes of Dover Atheletic (they need to put in at least 50-100 years of hardcore league action before they can lay claim to being bigger club than us!).

We just need a bit more passion and ambition and drive from our fans, players and all staff otherwise this downward spiral will continue. Instead of all this excuses and crap about US being minnows!!!! f#ck u lad!! - why liken us to Stockport and have such a negative attitude anyway? look what happened to Fulham in the 90s and also I remember going to see Gulls in League One and Two against teams like Wigan, Fulham, Man City, Hull..... The list goes on of all the teams who actually went up in the world due to having self beleif and passion combined with luck and skill and of course some extra money we badly need to invent ways as a club of generating.

And today we will SMASH the MINNOWS named Southport and end this dismal run of form. Cmon You Yellowwwwwwssss!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This season is 15 games in so being 5th position means near on nothing at all! We may be struggling now but we have so much more history and are historically a much bigger club. To us they should be minnows. Have some bloody ambition and passion instead of resigning to being a smaller club than Dover Athletic!

Ling was shit! sadly the budgets/fanbases of the other non-league clubs have dwarfed that of ours for several years now (ie. Crawley etc etc etc all now filling OUR football league spots) and there are more and more each year geting exciting new funding and innovotive ways to grow their clubs wealth. No disrespect to any of the previous board but I didnt see any inovation at all! (None! for well over 10 years)! All I saw was 'cost-cutting' exercised and fake PR bullshgit and excuses!

What we need is a miracle! some kind of multyi-millionnaire come along and make us able to compete again. No chance. Anyway even if it did happen.... its made football SHITE, ruined!!!!

Used to love going TUFC and watching a real mans game of football. WAy better than Premier League foreign pussys. But now its just watered down version of that attitude and the kids today (ie. young fans AND PLAYERS alike), are fickle and not loyal and many times are selfish. Basically there's no love for the badge anymore and no-one is prepared to take repsonsibility as a player for the losses its all too focused on manager failings

Id bet my life savings with anyone who is up for it. 100% we will not go down. Much more likely we fold altogether I fear

So to answer the original question, YES fu#k yeah Nico can keep us up! and hell yes he is gonna get the best out of the squad he has and improve several of them rapidly espeically as a unit in whole.

well good for you. I support the club since 1989 when I moved here aged 7. Ive worked 40-60 hour weeks every week since I was 18 and when they put prices over £15 the first time we went down I was only able to allow a few matches a year. They were all major disappointments and no passion or drive from the club. Every signing is a complete nobody. I remember back when we made signings like Neville Southall now what we got??

and I feel for Thea putting all that money into TUFC but it was chucking money away because there wasnt the right focus or knowledge or connections like you need to make any business operate successfully

and lastly I do love the club. But I aint paying £20 to watch garbage

TUFC til the day that I die MoFo !!!!!

low gate admission fee is the answer. Higher priced programms and hotdogs etc for the fans with extra money to pay helping the board out and still then getting larger fan base inside the stadium cheering the team on. Most of us under 30 cannot afford a packet of crisps let alone £20 to watch TUFC get hammered again

If Hargreaves didnt agree a pay cut (which to be fair why should he) then I think we should have stuck with him giving him time to finish what he started. On condition that contract expires end of season (assuming he never had some ludacrously long contract signed up)

And I reckon Cox had agreed expenses only with some secret 'bonuses' for good performance (ie. playoffs). When reality set in, he realised it wasnt obtainable and cut his loses

I would go if the gates was £10 or under . But cannot afford any more (not to mention having to not work to go see the match) when I used to get in free I went every match but havent paid more than £10 many times. Not like we going to see PRemier League quality etc and not even any fight/will to win/team spirit it seems now too.

And, Maybe Swansea can loan us a keeper; centre back, full back, decent passer and strong midfielder and a decent winger and we might stand a chance
