Jamie Reid's career is going down the pan and he needs to wake up and smell the coffee.
He has gone from a long term contract with Exeter City to NLS South in a very short space of time. It wouldn't surprise me if he doesn't make the starting XI for the first match of the season. If he put in more effort I think supporters would appreciate it but he has been a passenger in most games I've seen over the last two seasons.

I think Young will struggle at League 2 level, particularly with the physical side of the game.

Truro played very well for the first 30 minutes and deservedly took the lead during that time but spent the next 60 minutes hoofing the ball downfield to Tyler Harvey, who was poor, and Andrew Neal, who is well under 6 feet tall. Neal was Truro's best player and would be a good addition to our squad for next season along with Truro's keeper, Jo Woolcott, who I understand is on loan from Bristol City and made a stunning one hand save in the closing stages to secure a point.merse btpir wrote: ↑28 Apr 2018, 18:41
No I wasn't..... in a very 'busy 'week my chosen live games have been Chelsea V Arsenal (FAYC final) last night ~ which was my second game of the evening after watching my son play at 5pm ~ The return leg on Monday night, Haringey Borough v Heybridge Swifts in the Isthmian North play-off on Wednesday night, Hendon V Folkestone Invicta in the Isthmian Premier play-off on Thurday night and hopefully watching Haringey play in the ILN final next Sunday after watching my younger son trial at Wingate & Finchley on the Saturday morning!
As you see; I watch a a lot of live football and am familair with both Truro and Hampton (who now have to do it all over again on the same ground in the play-offs!) and in the circumstances of this stage of the season would be surprised by your comment; but they are no ATypical of this league in my opinion.
The standard was pretty average but that opinion is based on one game.

You obviously weren't at the Hampton and Richmond v Truro game today!merse btpir wrote: ↑28 Apr 2018, 18:17 The NLS is patently NOT 'hoofball'. Get that out of your head and maybe talk some sense.
It is very, very competitive but slower in pace from the National League which makes it less easy for a player of Young's genre to find the time to play in the manner which his fans are accustomed to.
A midfield of energy and physical strength is a must. Of men rather than boys and talker/bollockers and leaders that's for sure.....it will be no easy option.

Player of the season vote
I'll second that! The most overrated player in a very poor team. I can only assume that those supporters who think he's so wonderful don't watch many away games. I've seen far too many lightweight performance away from home from Young.

Gowlings performance on Tuesday night was an absolute disgrace. It looked like he couldn't give a sh!tCP Gull wrote: ↑26 Apr 2018, 19:19 Agree with you there Brucie.
Shocking performance by Gowling .... and you have to say McGinty too.
Gowling has another year on his contract, he may or may not want to see that out with TUFC. But you get the feeling that if he does want to stay he would prefer it to be under a different Manager to Owers .... and so it might just suit him to pile on the pressure on an under fire Manager by putting in a performance like that. Falling out with Managers is not a new thing for Gowling, he has past history - and was something that Grimsby fans brought up on forums when we first signed him.
I don't care what his is problem is with Owers, he is probably one of the better paid players and should give 100% for the club, the supporters and his own personal pride.
I would drop him for tomorrow, transfer list him and tell him he won't be selected again.

Good! I'd be very happy if all these losers left.knightmaregull wrote: ↑25 Apr 2018, 13:04 Owers can create whatever retained list he wants - who on Earth would decide to stay even if invited to?
Even those under contract will be scrambling for the nearest doors.

We are 1-2 down at home to a team playing with 10 men who are already relegated and playing their 4th game in 8 days meanwhile Solihull are 0-1 up at play off bound Tranmere. Just remind me was Mark Yates available when Owers was appointed?
Sack Owers and appoint Tully - knows the NLS and the south west football scene and had success at Truro.

Release all the players whose contract expires at end of season and transfer list all those players under contract for next season. New players needed without a losing mentality.
