BARROW V TORQUAY Match day thread.16 Sept 2017 ko 3pm
Provided the new coach doesn't try to change too much too quickly, and he is on record as saying he won't' then I think the impetus of trying to impress the new regime will help considerably and we may just may scrape a draw. No indication of any new arrivals to strengthen the squad despite references to this by Owers.

WOW, our would be Director of Football was mightily impressive!!! How embarrassing was that. ON a brighter note Manager and assistant sounded okay. No more can be said at this stage as time will tell

I acknowledge that this forum is a great appropriate place to vent frustration, having supported Torquay since I was 6 years I know just how necessary this is!
However, sometimes there is a need for action. I know that there are others here like myself who are at least willing to try something, even if to no avail!
Natural regression in crowd sizes won't stir anyone, some form of specific notable action has to be taken. There is no doubt that the action taken by some members on this board have at least 'thrown an oar' into the issues surrounding the stadium saga.
Anyone can sit back and be one of the passive moaning crowd, (even criticising others for their efforts..) and watch the club decline or you can make the choice to get off your arse and at least try to do something to make a difference!
I know what I choose and I encourage others to take some form of positive action

Are we are are we not complete mugs? We're being played for fools by a loan shark land developer. Unless we get an experienced manager having now waited long enough I honestly think we should demonstrate outside the ground and boycott the next few home matches. It's time to raise the profile of this sorry saga and start some adverse publicity for GI and MR Osbourne

Torquay v Chester. 2/9/17 Match day thread
Despite the new signings, only two of whom at best will be available for this match, I cannot see how we will be able to field a team and subs. We have so many injuries now would anyone like to suggest what the match day line up will be?

Woking v Torquay match thread Monday 28/8/17 3pm
We are getting exactly what GI want. The demise of football in the bay so they can get their evil hands on the freehold. Those of you who disagree show me EVIDENCE that they have ever had a successful development as far as the incumbents are concerned. They are property developers and they couldn't give a shit for TUFC. I would love to be proved wrong

What a stupid argument. We beat Forest Green 9 - 8 on aggregate but we weren't challenging for promotion. Ie its results over the season that matter. My point was I have no affection for a club that effectively eluded relegation last season by outrageous cheating.Plainmoor78 wrote: ↑29 Apr 2017, 17:00
Christ, somebody still going on about this. It was over 12 months ago. Anyway Guisley beat York 6-1 this season which does suggest guisley deservedly stayed up.

Really wanted York to stay up at the expense of cheats Guisley. Still hope for them, I guess but only if another league team with a great history ( Leton Orient ) are banished to obscurity

Earliest memory was seeing Ernie Pymm bombing down the wing. Think the match was against Fulham and we lost but I daren't think how long ago that was. Definitely the early 60's

Clarke Osborne and Pontins Buyout (2008)
It really beggars belief that there are some posters on here who are still willing or hoping that Clarke Osborne is legit and will take TUFC to greater things. PLEASE. Read the history. The man is nothing but a loan shark and a property developer who couldn't give a sh*t about our great club.
The evidence is overwhelming. Believe nothing he says. He wants the freehold of Plainmoor so he can sell it at a profit for housing, no doubt aided and abetted by some of the more influential members of Torbay council
The promised stadium will NOT be built. Of course there will be plans but they will not come to fruition. Again, Read the history. Win or lose tomorrow get ready to be shafted
