Torquay v Guiseley 24/04 (PP on 24/3/18)

Yes, agree with all. The club hit a new low tonight on the pitch. A result of monumental mismanagement throughout the club for some time!! Surely it's time for a complete change in players and management!!

Maidenhead v Torquayunited 10/2/18

Really good day out today. Friendly club, unsegregated proves it can be done at football matches. Their stewards/rules could certainly teach ours a thing or two. Good performance from the team who actually look like a team as last! Great away support.4 points from safety but a few games in hand for those around us. All we can do is keep winning! Gutted if Romain is unavailable next week.

Torquay United v Barrow 3/2/18

You don't have to be that great to win a match at this level at this stage of the season as we proved today! But we now have a chance having been though 38 players, we seem to have 11/12 who may give us a shout. Maidenhead away needs all our support!!!!!!!!!!!

Yorkieandy, yes I will join. As I am sure my friends/family who I watch TUFC with will do the same. The basic fact is we have no other option as it stands. Or does anyone know otherwise!!!

Teigngull thanks for the response. Yes £24 is a very small amount of cash. This is my issue. What are you doing with it and how is it going to make a difference???

No one wants the club to flourish more than me yorkieandy! Been a fan since the 80's and both my kids now have TUFC in their blood!! Maybe this forum can play a bigger part in bringing fans together to the greater good. Please remember their are many who view this forum who chose not to post!!

Not too bad in the first half but when you don't have the quality up front then things get really messy as they did today! Personally I don't think any manager can save us with the current owners!! Did not see any TUST members giving out flyers today but would join if I knew it would make a difference!!!!!!!

Eastleigh racism

Not often I post on here but read for information and entertainment. I was at the match on boxing day and heard what I would interpret as 'monkey noises'. I actually turned to the person next to me and asked if what I heard was right. They replied that they had not heard it. This is probably where the difference of opinion lies. (perhaps a lone voice hidden amongst the chanting)
On two occasions, as the same Eastleigh player approached the corner of the pitch (not Zebroski) I heard what I interpreted as 'monkey noises'. On each occasion this lasted for about 5 seconds and I believe from only one voice. To the credit of young lads around the area they did not appear to join in and the chanting swiftly moved on to other things.
A sad and disturbing event in what was otherwise a great day out.
For those on the forum who did not hear it, please do not disregard the people who believe they did, simply because they do not voice there opinions here on a regular basis.

Final Game - North Ferriby @ 12:15

Really enjoyed yesterdays game, mainly because we got the result we needed rather than the actual match itself. The last few matches prove that, at this level you don't need the most gifted team to win more than you lose. Should we want to push on next season and challenge for a play off spot we will need a bit more quality up front that perhaps Williams has provided over the last couple of games. Signing a striker that will provide the quality needed consistently will cost a lot more than our current budget as will an experienced midfielder. The new owners will be showing their hand over the next month, and then we will know for sure how seriously they take the club. Clarke Osbourne took a seat in front of me in Bristow bench yesterday for the first half and seemed to kick every ball with the team. Would I trust GI with the freehold of Plainmoor. My gut feeling at this stage is no. I for one will enjoy the weekend and hope for the best over the coming weeks. For now, congratulations to Kevin and the team for the last months performances but the question must be 'what were you playing at before?'

Torquay v Lincoln Sat. 3 Sept. (k.o. 5:30 pm) match thread

Really enjoyed today's match, but as always when you concede late on it is gutting. Realistically we were holding on for the last 10 minutes but when Rhead got one on one with Rowe Turner in the air there was only going to be one outcome. Was sat behind the Lincoln bench whose only tactic seemed to be 'hit it long' or/and 'stay onside'. We gave a strong team a really good game today and will be ok this season! NICO not only saved us last season but has put a pretty decent (maybe raw) side together who will get better. For me Luck Young was outstanding today!!!!

Stewards

Stewards are required to maintain order in the ground and ensure the safety of the public/paying customers.I feel the problem at Torquay is the stewards have so little to occupy their time with, they feel the need to enforce petty rules which they wouldn't be able to do should we get a full house.I paid £53 for my family to watch the match yesterday,I was asked to keep my feet off the chair in front of me, as was everyone around us.Very petty but what about the people who use the seats as short cut stepping stones before and after the match.Much more of a safety issue I think!
Having recently visited Old Trafford to watch the test match I witnessed excellent stewarding at first hand.15,000 people, all able to drink alcohol, both indian and english supporters mixed together, being treated and helped with respect and dignity by the stewards. There probably were rules being stretched but sensible stewarding ensured I left the ground safely having witnessed no trouble at all.
I'm sure the stewards would be treated with far more respect if they treated fans as a customer and not as the enemy!
Having been supporting TUFC for near 30 years I do fear for the future of the club in many ways.Less than 2000 fans for the first home Saturday game of the new season following a good win in midweek.Torquay need to act before another 500 disappear and being poorly treated by stewards will not help!!
