Three Central Midfielders?
I just wonder how long we can run with our present amibitious format. Gateshead clearly largely dominated yesterday's game and that has to be a worry. We have been overrun in midfield in many games last year and many of those were at home. The team was at it's strongest when O 'Kane ran from deep . knill's fast winger strategy created holes elsewhere. It may be time for a rethink strategically. By this time next week we may have a clearer view.

No Richinns I am not questioning the Manager's judgement. Other current threads on here relate to splits in the Board. Splits there are certain in my view to restrict the resource available to the Manager both now and for the months to come.

Board resignations in the Herald Express
The three guys were at the forefront of things as the 'rescue' package was put together. They deserve every supporters thanks . We are in a much better position now (even despite the last year ) than we ever could have been without their time and enthusiasm. Without them we would be down with Weymouth's and Herefords. They deserve respect and unfortunately it feels that has not been forthcoming from certain people with ego's to parade.

I have seen the guy play well but in the majority of times I've seen him his positional sense has been poor. The Manager has to be aware of that. The interconnection between this and other threads on here are pretty obvious. I hope I am wrong and Tom proves me well wrong

Rumour brings crisis?
This would be totally disastrous for the club. If there are differences of opinion please let the same spirit that brought this board together come through now.

Full Backs
News of Nicho begs a question. Are we going to start the season with just one recognised full back? Tom Cruise I believe is still "on trial" and appears to have had a mixed pre season. Dale Tonge is listed and whilst there are youngsters maybe coming good they will need selective introduction. I realise this may be a difficult question five days away from the big kick off but if we are really going to target a shot at regaining league status are we really properly armed? The question I am sure goes to the Board who have indicated they want to regain league status at the first attempt. I realise money is tight but that tight?

Not impossible for it to be Hawley. He has I believe the best league goal scoring record of any player on our books. The conference has a habit of regenerating ageing forwards.

I wonder whether we trial a full back or two at Weymouth? It's only 30 miles away from a certain Championship resort.

I would like to see how Gus could play in the right back position he filled at Salisbury on Saturday. If we are to only have a first team squad of 18 we are going to need versatility.

A full squad for next season?
We seem to me at least a fair number of players away from a finished squad. I do hope we have irons in the fire beyond the six trialists. We may well find an answer or two from these six but history suggests that gems coming from that box are few and far between. I do hope CH can continue to find further players of the calibre he has been able to talk into the club in the past month particularly in midfield and at full back.
