Re: International call ups

What a difference a year makes under Martin Ling, Nathan Craig was on international calls with Bodin and we could have postponed Saturdays game, as Thompson has gone with Ireland. Knill should wake up as I know some managers with contacts would have phone the Welsh manager to take him just to get the game off. What can you do when you have not played the lad yourself.

Re: Formation change needed

You could be right Matt but I've only seen him once thats why I said this. Rice is lucky to be playing but in all fairness he has done quite well up to Saturday, as I would have been upset if I'd have let in two of the goals.

Matt.
Benyon knows the game going back and he can get forward he's done this in his younger days at Bristol City. It's important that the wide players are able to double up if their fullback is struggling.
This is one of the problems playing wingers wide and not midfielders. Bodin has only just started doing it and is getting better.Bodin needs a bomb up his backside sometimes but has improved this season. Azeez and cameron are inexperienced and I would not trust them in a tight game.

Re: Formation change needed

Just thought Matt is right Craig won't play as Knill has got blinkers on, I forgot Bodin is out for Saturday so I would play Benion wide right and keep Cameron and Azeez subs.

Re: Formation change needed

The manager has no option but to get a loan player in at centre half and yes it is hard luck that both Pierce and Downes are not fit but there were problems way before last Saturday. I don't want to talk to much about last Saturday as players might read it and would lose confidence and they have not got much of that at the moment. Matt asked what team I or anyone would pick, I have two options with the players available. Rice Tonge Cruise (Loan a must) Nicholson Lathrope Mansell Craig Chapell Bodin with Hawley or Benyon up front trying to get to second half Knill Knill if you know what I mean. I have managed at a good level and know if the spirit is good it can act as an extra player I just hope the coaching staff get it right. When everyone is fit I would play a 4-2-3-1 formation but on Saturday a 4-5-1 is needed. Late in the game if there is a chance to win thinking positive get Azeez on for the winner or 'catch up.' In a full squad I would try Chapell behind the striker as he get goals. Thats it Matt

Formation change needed

I will support the United through the bad times as well as the good but I feel that I need to voice my opinion. The team has played good football at times, but good football does not always win games.
Mansell and Harding are nearly always playing at full stretch due to only having two in midfield. I need to ask why Nathan Craig has not been involved all season when he has been the best reserve player in several games. The team is crying out for a player who can pass the ball and create why has he been overlooked. In several games at home the players have come out second half and conceded within ten minutes. What are the coaching staff doing, players are not learning. The team starts well in the first half but are over ran when the opposition sus us out. The manager does not need to change but he needs to look at himself as the formation leaves us to open. The youngsters in the team need to grow up quickly as on Saturday it was the first goal that set the rot in. The team need to close down the opposition quicker. The idiot who knocked Mansell should be locked out of the ground as he's got nothing between his ears. Sorry if I've upset anyone but I feel better now!
