Final Game - North Ferriby @ 12:15

Mervyn Gill who we got from Southampton and local boy Peter Wakham who was bought by Sunderland, two of my earliest keepers but For the odd one or two Torquay have allways had decent keepers.

Final Game - North Ferriby @ 12:15

Great result and credit must go to all the players and Kevin Nicolson, somehow after many terrible results throughout the season to win the last three matches something incredible must have happened. Some of these players must have turned the corner and should be retained for next season but of course the budget is the deciding factor.By the way a fantastic crowd today, best in the league (don't know the Aldershot crowd as I write ),but shows the love of Torquay is not dead.Shame it's going into the pocket of the undesirable.

THE REAL GREAT ESCAPE, BRYN THE POLICE DOG ETC, 30 YEARS ON. (Has much really changed.)

I was sat in my garden in Somerset thinking well that's that when out of the blue Paul Dobson scored, heaven,we where saved, the joy was unbelievable,I had to write to Stuart Morgan who I think was the manager, saying you never miss what you have untill it's gone. Now of course we are used to it.

Lincoln v Torquay 14/04

Dose anybody think that if this group of players were kept together they could get us out of the national south, just that we seem to have been playing better these last few weeks?

Where do we go from here?

Unfortunatly league football is not sustainable in Torquay, whoever is in charge , for all the reasons that have been posted on this site,it's like Tesco opening a giant supermarket in Widdicombe, not enough customers and not enough staff. The time has come to be radical, where dose the money come from that keeps the club afloat,I guess it's the supporters , so without gate money and players fund the owners would have to put their hand into their own pockets, not something that at the moment they are willing to do,if nobody turned up to watch the games the club would soon disapear. Let mr Osborne have the club, let the council sell the ground, hopefully they would build affordable housing so some people would benifit ,I would rather see Torquay play in some league down the pyrimid and perhaps ground shearing with the Tics at the Rec. There must be 1000 people who would put 100 quid into the new club , with voting rites to change committies, and become shareholders .Let's start again , alla Wimbledon,we could become the club south west semi pro footballers would want to play for and if in the future we grow to think about National south football we would be viable and confident to do so, I take no pleasure in taking this course ,as a lifelong supporter , but enough is enough,we must put a stop to this madness and start again,I would not see the fruits of this revolution but true Torquay fans would,a sustainable club, ruled by true Torquay supporters and something to be proud of.

Hi Sesimbra, Harry played at left back and John Smith ar right back ,Denis Lewis at right half and Griffin Norman at center half, the forward line was Shaw !Collins ,Calland ,Mills ,Tony Collins and Mervyn Gill in goal,a teriffic team with the likes of Peter Wakham goalkeeper,Graham Bond and Jimmy James ,oh for that quality now.
