Re: Torquay Fans Demographic Poll
Proud to have doubled the Midlands tally with Stratford on Avon. Come on the Warwick boys, where are you?

Re: Northampton Town vs Torquay United 24/8/13
Well that was a football lesson.
First half we played hoof it in the air and they played decent ground football. Second half was an about change and Chappell finished beautifully to give us the win.
Would agree with MKG's summary other than maybe Nicho was seemed to be left with no cover time after time in the first half. Yes he was well beaten but how many times did that have to happen before anyone decided that he needed more cover? Not impressed with the tactics or the nouse of those around him because we could all see it happening and yet nothing changed.
Great result and let's see more of the proper football in the second half rather than the big boot.

40 miles away and it's grey and looking like it will stay that way so dress for rain.
Was going to bike it down but drowned rat look doesn't suit me so will take drier option of four wheels.
Not expecting a win but I am looking forward to seeing my first game of the season at Coventry City's home stadium and with the Cobblers likely to field at least four former City players in their squad.

Player to bring in (suggestions)
That's correct. Free whilst in administration, but too much when not free for a club averaging 11k home attendance last season. A sorry state of affairs initially set in motion by directors many years ago selling the old ground that was only fit for demolition to, wait for it, themselves...and hey presto a housing development opportunity appeared.
Terrible deals subsequently done on the ground and all spiralling down from that.
Still on transfer embargo too so don't think Manset or anyone will be joining yet.....

Re: Player Sponsorship
That's Mrs Stratford.....thanks for that. Shame that we've heard absolutely diddly from the club then.
Slightly disappointing.

Re: Player Sponsorship
This will sound really dopey, but I 'think' that I sponsor someone.
I might have been suckered in on this but I believe that I may have sponsored Martin Ling by way of a present, but I've never heard a dickybird from the club.
Being an exile I haven't actually made in to Plainmoor this season so haven't even been able to check out a programme to see if I'm mentioned. I'm prepared to believe that It was all a joke but for all I know, my face could be plastered on every wall and in every toilet in the place?
If someone can check out a programme for me then I'd be very grateful.

Re: Cheltenham Town v Torquay United - 2/2/12
Can I jump in and moan about Jarvis then please for a bit of balance? I was there again today but he was missing again. My hamster could brush him off the ball, assuming that Jarvis could be arsed to chase the ball.
I was warned by a friend playing with him at Walsall that he was a waster and I haven't seen a performance to make me want to argue with that.
I'll take no talent but I'm not happy paying my money for anybody that doesn't give a toss.
I am optimistic by nature and don't like to denigrate, but being there today felt like I was being punished for something. Have we all been bad recently?

Friendly taxi in Torquay?
My 18 year old daughter and her boyfriend are coming by train to Torquay but don't arrive until 1130pm on Friday night. Can anyone recommend a good taxi that I can prebook for them to take them to their hotel? (I'm an exile!)

I'll be adding to the away support (ie +1) so maybe we can outmatch the Harrogate awayers for this one.
I recall a few years ago that the half time entertainment at Underhill involved someone from the crowd trying to kick a ball into a stripey coffin? Or was that a dream that I had due to the extreme cold that night......who knows but it would make a great TV show

Re: Top 5 films
Some good choices already and if limited to only five mine would have to be:
Oh Mr Porter
The Man With X-Ray Eyes
Koyaanisqatsi
Kind Hearts and Coronets (the proper original)
It's a Mad Mad World
Could exchange all five for
Sons of the Desert
The Premature Burial
The Ladykillers
The Third Man
Disney Snow White and the Seven Dwarves
So that's ten then and could still find another ten to swap out.

Re: three on trial tonight
It's definitely not Coventry's Carl Baker - he apologised profusely to City fans after the clubs latest friendly defeat the other night, I think 1-4 against Wrexham, following their pasting by Ross County......
