Re: League 2 Playoffs: Shrewsbury Town vs Torquay United

Just watching coverage on my local news station (BBC midlands). Don't think the reporter is convinced that Shrews have much chance.....c'mon you yellows!

Re: League 2: Northampton Town vs Torquay United

All home and getting ready to leave for ground. Am me + 1 tonight just to swell the away support which is all good. 2-0 for me and got a feeling that O'K might grab one for us. Will have to give the many old Sky Blues that are now old Cobblers a decent cheer, but only as they are kicking off for a restart after each Gull Goal.

Re: HOW LONG BEFORE ?

As a Gull living relatively near to Coventry, there has been no mention of Mr Buckle. Paul Tisdale (sorry for that) has been listed in the local press, but as a rank (and I mean rank) outsider. Kevin Blackwell seems the local paper favourite at the moment, or de Matteo as he is known to like the wine bars of nearby Leamington Spa!!! Say no more......

Re: Goalkeeping position....

Thought LRT showed enough on Tuesday to deserve a fair run in the side, but Nicko back is tempting. Maybe it's a sign of the times that we can say this - choices for places. He wasn't easily pushed around and I saw a burst of occasional pace too.

Potter doesn't fill me with too much confidence on the other hand. He is certainly an able deputy for Bevan but I think that the pecking order is just that. Bevan as first choice with Potter as second choice. I thought that Potters choice to punch, and to punch downwards in a pretty full penalty area was poor, and his positioning for the equaliser wasn't great either.

Re: What Cheltenham fans think of our support...

I agree. I live not too far from Cheltenham and know a few Robins fans and all grudgingly told me how much noise we were making last night. One mentioned how it took about 3 seconds for the silence to stop and the yellow army chants to start up again after the equaliser went in. The pitch result might have been 2-2 but the fans score was definitely in our favour!

Re: Cheltenham Town v Torquay United

Just home. Referee and one linesman absolutely abysmal. Cheltenham were poor and deserved nothing from the game, but we really did our best to hand over that point.

Potter made a couple of good saves but his choice to punch downwards cost us for the first goal, and he wasn't in a great position for the second either. Having said that, without the idiotic referee, there wouldn't have been a first goal, and if we could have just tried to hold the ball a little, then there would have been no chance created for the second.

Pitch was badly cut up, and their number 3 might as well have put the refs shirt on and had a go because he couldn't do anything in his own shirt.....Don't understand the substitutions either?

Re: Match officials for Saturday

Anthea Turner? Good game, good game!

Sian is from my neck of the woods and she's pretty damn good so let's give her the backing she deserves. If she's good then we'll ignore her, if she's bad, we'll tell her she's bad...it's all that she or any other official expects.

Re: Wycombe Wanderers vs Torquay United

Great performance last night from players and supporters alike (exclude Wycombe in both of those categories)......a cracking and crackling all round team performance with some slick passing moves and a real hunger. As others have said, at 1-0 down it seemed as though we were in control and causing all of the problems.
Will be a great shame if we lose EB - he wasn't given much in the first half, mainly due to the referee who seemed intent on ignoring anything that Benners was subjected to, but when the sniffs came, I thought he did what was needed and even though the finish of the goal was a little mistimed, his movement paved the way to the goal.

Credit to the Wycombe keeper who was clearly playing to the crowd - he's probably not realised that there is a crowd at Adams Park judging by the ROAR (not) of the home fans.

Re: Wycombe Wanderers vs Torquay United

Me too...my mate in Wycombe tells me that we should wear wellies if we're gonna park nearby cos it's all fields - it is a dead end though so I think it might be park and hike.....

Re: Wycombe Wanderers vs Torquay United

I'll be there. First away game of the season - was gutted to have to miss the Oxford game due to corporate rubbish business development day nonsense. What better way to develop people than to send them to an away game at Oxford?
Anyway, not too bad a trip down from Stratford for me (as long as i can find somewhere to park) but I reckon it will be a tough old game for us. If we squeak a draw then I think we'll have done pretty well, so I'm going for 9-0 to the Gulls!!

Re: Welcome back

I agree. Good to be back.
Took me a while to register (not techy problems, just been busy) but i'm glad to be back here. Warwickgull, maybe we should start a Warwickshire fan group or something similar? That would be, erm, probably you and me for now then, unless others that i'm not aware of are from round here.....?

Whoop whoop!
