It means very average - dull, basically. Don't think it's specific to Devon though!AustrianAndyGull wrote:Oh and by the way, what does 'meh' mean? I've seen it a few times now and have got no idea. Is it a Devon thing or just modern yoof terminology?

To the OP, agreed, when you put it like that, it does seem like we've taken a step forward from last year.

Would be good but I'm pretty sure Teeboo said it was a "new name".SDYellow wrote:If it is who has just been posted on the football rumours sight I'd happily take Mark back.
6'2" so fits one part of the description.

Re: PSF Thread - Tiverton v Torquay
Fits the bill - would be seen as a high-profile signing and is certainly a bit of a thug. Think he's past it though and would probably be on big wages; I'd rather have Cooper personally.Harris wrote:Darren Purse? 6"2 and has lived down this way before at Argyle?

Re: Harding signs two year deal
He's a defensive midfielder - scoring goals isn't his job. How many goals has Damon Lathrope scored?tomogull wrote:So with the signing of Ben Harding, presumably we can forget the rumours about Mozika coming to Plainmoor? That's a shame. Can't say I'm as enthusiastic as some - 2 goals in 42 games for the Cobblers last season hardly suggests he's a free scoring midfielder. I hope I'm proved wrong but my gut feeling is that at the end of the season, some of you will be making the sort of comments you have been making about Oastler, Morris and Stevens. Time will tell ...........

Marines
A quick report in case anyone wanted one:
First half we had a lot of similar players on the pitch - Bodin, Chapell, Cameron (and to an extent, Craig) and slightly struggled to accommodate them all. Benyon tried hard but didn't get too much service, and got a bit frustrated with the Bodin-Chapell-Cameron clique preferring to pass to each other. Cameron had one excellent run where he went past three players to assist Bodin for the first goal, and looks willing to take people on. Chapell fairly impressive.
Tonge had a decent game, a lot more willing to get forward than Oastler and really put a shift in bombing on. Good communicator too - kept talking to Cameron and MacKenzie. Quite aggressive defensively and always looking to join the attack.
Second half Yeoman and Sullivan came on and looked quite good; Yeoman got his brace (although could've had more) and Sullivan had some good runs. Harding came on and looked OK - tall defensive mid, did a reasonable job of breaking up play. Hutchings and MacKenzie slotted in well, although the former didn't really get much time. Conor Thompson had one save to make and almost dropped it over the line, but it was good to see Nico trying to build his confidence up by praising him later.

Where did you get that from Gulliball? Had a quick look on the web and couldn't find anything about him, Stevens or Easton being on trial (although I'm not doubting you).Gulliball wrote:Leadbitter is currently at Hereford, no idea about the others. Would be surprised to see many stay in the league.

Osasuna or Tiverton Town ... ummm ?
I read it as we were trying to organize a game against Osasuna and when that didn't happen, we turned to Tiverton as an alternative opponent. I doubt any board/manager would be stupid enough to throw away the chance to play a high-profile foreign team with the reckless abandon you accuse United of.

Would that be the Lichaj who played 17 games in the Premier League last season? I know we haven't had much news lately but come on...Matt wrote:Villa's Lichaj to fill the full back slot?
I'm aware its massively unlikely but it is that time of year so...

Bloody hell, that's an understatement! I've fixed it now (as much as possible). I sincerely hope whoever wrote that doesn't consider English their first language.PhilGull wrote:Joe Anyinsah is a creditable target and the sort of quick wingery striker it sounds like Knill likes.
I would advise against reading his Wiki page, the grammar is terrible!!

Player to bring in (suggestions)
The Twitter feed on the right claims we could be signing Jernade Meade, an ex-Arsenal left-winger who can also play left-back (although presumably not for us, if we did sign him, as we've already got Nico + Cruise). At 5ft 3in, he could also be the new Danny Stevens!

Re: Stadium Tour (OS)
No problem - thank whoever put it up on the OS! Haha, I thought the same about the honours board, it's a bit excessive in length. If our honours earned in 100-odd years only fill about the quarter of the board, it could be quite a while until we get our money's worth...AustrianAndyGull wrote:Cheers DTUFC, i enjoyed that. I've never actually seen the yellow brick road nor been around the side where the bench is. I've also never seen inside the ground either so it was very interesting. Perhaps whoever put up the honours board was a bit optimistic though but it's good to be positive! :~D

Stadium Tour (OS)
Just seen that they've put a "virtual tour of the stadium" on the OS, which might be of some interest to a few people, especially exiles. The pictures include the dressing rooms and offices (including the surprisingly small boardroom).
