Re: Logan
Would be happy with this. Proven goal-scorer at this level (what we need).

Re: What do we need next season?
I see Southampton have released Lee Holmes. I hear Oxford are in for him (he was on loan there as well as Swindon, last season). However, if Swindon want him I am sure he will go there. Could we afford his wages? I thought he performed 'OK' when we played Swindon at their place, and was similar in the JPT final. He clearly has a bit of class about him; a good touch and delivery. If we can get him at reasonable wages, would be a very good signing.
Additionally, could we make a sneaky bid for McLeod at Barnet? I'm not sure how much the Sky coverage has given us, but that, plus money for Eunan meant we could perhaps make an offer (providing Ling is given a large percentage of it). Apparently Oxford want him and will offer £110k. Barnet apparently holding out for £180k. Granted, he was poor against us at their place earlier in the season, but his goal tally for the last few seasons is excellent; he has scored 32 in 73 appearances for Barnet. Think him and Howe would compliment each other well. I appreciate that historically we don't spend large sums of money on players (Constantine is the exception), however if we get £200k+ for EoK, then surely getting these two with that money would represent good business?
I would also like to see McDonald on a season long loan if Ellis leaves.

Great videos. Need to be promoted though...I never knew they existed! Why don't the 'inside plainmoor' twitter account, tweet when a new video is uploaded?...This should help gain more views.

Damon Lathrope
Thought this deserved a thread of its own.
It has been reported by the BBC this morning that a deal to keep Lathrope at the club is "a done deal, without a shadow of a doubt." Cracking news in my opinion. I don't think Damon gets anywhere near enough praise and I honestly believe without him this season, there is no way we would have kept as many clean-sheets and therefore be in the hunt for automatic promotion. He covers so well when others are out of position and his passing is always simple and effective.
In terms of attacking, despite not scoring this season, he has actually had a number of great efforts in recent weeks. I remember Ling saying a couple of weeks ago that he or Oastler may score the goal that takes us up. Whilst I may not go that far, I do have a sneaky feeling he may grab a goal tomorrow. Couple of pounds on 21/1 first goalscorer anyone?

Re: Lunch with Lingy/ yellow army singers
Must agree with the atmosphere. It was so much better today. I get to lots of away games and am always shocked by the contrast in vocal support at home vs away. However, today was brilliant. I sit in the family stand and sing my heart out on away days. Today, the whole crowd were involved. When the 'singers' are by the away end, the noise is lost. Today, everyone could join in and it made a real difference. Please please please, stay as you were today. It encouraged everyone to join in and I really think it can affect the outcome of games.

Despite the fact he gave the ball to Eunan to then assist Howe for the goal, in the 7th minute?brucie wrote:Neither side seemed to be able to string more than two passes together but a win is a win. God knows how Aldershot have won six on the trot. Ellis was again outstanding at the back.
Jarvis offered us absolutely nothing. He didn't actualy touch the ball until the eighteenth minute of the game - quite some achievement for a pro footballer.
Atieno looked by some way a better option when he came on.

Re: Ryan Jarvis
A little bit of research suggests it may well be Ryan Jarvis. He is currently at Walsall as hector says, but was at Orient under Ling. He is a striker, so fits the bill. Where as, Rossi is a midfielder, and although has played for Cambridge (and still is), he was not there at the same time as Ling.
Ryan Jarvis has scored (a belter by all accounts) in the Prem for Norwich, but looks like he cant make the Walsall bench at present (unless he is injured).
I think this would be a good signing. Think he is good technically and Ling must know him well.

Agreed. A nippy lad who is the right place at the right time. Benyon-esque.usagullmichigan wrote:Big striker. We have one. We need a goal poacher.

Re: cheltenham town v torquay united - 14/2/2012
That was incredible, just incredible. After watching Southend on the box last night, Swindon and Shrews at Plainmoor and Cheltenham tonight, I genuinely believe we are good enough to go up automatically. If we can break our duck against Crawley, Ling will have surpassed our wildest dreams. We defended like absolute heroes tonight, the unity within the team is incredible. Granted, we didn't offer much (if anything, second half) going forward. However, we were hardly allowed any time, and Cheltenham continuously pumped balls down the centre.
The atmosphere was immense and just can't believe this run we are on. The night was topped off by me (finally) winning a bet. How we were 3/1 to win tonight is beyond me, but had a tenner on it so happy days.
Hard to pick a MOTM, but Saah, Ellis, Manse, Morris and Bobby were all up there. Cracking night, cracking run, cracking, cracking, CRACKING!!!!!!!!!!!! The Gulls are going up!!!!!!!!!!

The BBC TUFC articles...
...are sometimes shocking.
Just look at their latest offering...
The Gulls have won three, drawn three and lost six matches in League Two so far this season, but Ling says he is still happy with the strength of his squad.
Who are the people writing this? How hard is it to look at the bl**dy league table!!!???
Anyway, rant over.
Still think we need a loan signing to bolster the attack. Or how about playing Bodin up top with Rene? They could compliment each other well. The problem with that of course is that it leaves 2 from Macklin, Stevens and McPhee on the wings. Not exactly frightening, are they?
