FC Halifax v Torquay
At last, mid table obscurity!
In fact, I was listening in the Morrison's car park at Totnes while the wife was inside shopping. I see her coming out with the shopping, I start the engine to drive to meet her, the commo dies out momentarily and returns with Steve Breed laughing his head off at the bobble as we score the first.
Having got over the shock of (nearly) hearing a goal on the commo I drive the car over to the wife, she say's back it into a space, I stop the engine again, radio goes off so I turn it back on manually only to hear the normally reserved Julian Gaunt and Steve yelling their heads off as the second goes in.
Ah well!
By the way, that was a bit harsh in a previous post about Steve, I think that he is a natural.

TUST
In reply to Tomogull's question on finances, and I hope with Michael's agreement, can I reassure all prospective and existing TUST members?
Firstly, each year a full set of financial accounts has been produced.
Secondly, all annual accounts for TUST have been properly deposited with the Government Financial Regulator in accordance with the relevant regulations and timescales!
Thirdly, there has been continuity over the years insofar as proper financial processes being carried out.
Fourthly, all funds used have been either for reasonable admin. costs or for projects which had tangible outcomes.

Can anybody explain to me why Prynn was being readied to sub when the final whistle went?
He was stripped and ready and waiting with the fourth official so I can only assume that it would have been a protective move as Ofori Acheampong had been on the pitch about nine minutes and had already been booked and then been in an unseemly tangle with a defender. If he'd been sent off that really would have capped the day.
Otherwise what was the point?

Wrexham sack their manager
It's tough being a manager, getting to Wembley wasn't enough for Kevin Wilkin.

Torquay v Kidderminster
I missed the first ten minutes (as usual) so i didn't see an incident about which others were frothing at the mouth. Apparently Ajala was taken out by their keeper and the ball then ran over the line without the ref either giving a penalty or a corner.
I watched the first half from the family stand and Bowman was involved in the build up for the first goal holding off his defender and scoring with a sweet shot.
Second half I went to the Bench and we fell into the old ways again dropping deeper and deeper and inviting them to come at us. It really was white knuckle stuff at times. The second goal was very well worked too and what was pleasing about that was the fact that we actually picked ourselves up after giving away a soft equaliser. we lost the ball easily from the restart and I thought here we go again but they actually knuckled down so the reaction to the wrexham debacle has actually happened albeit after some dire home performances.
I think others are hard on McQuilkin by the way, I thought he was fairly solid just in front of the back four.

Another positive word about the ref.
In the first half one of our players was fouled just inside their half, he waved play on and I thought that was that. The ball went forward and we then lost possession so he brought play right back to the original foul. Nine times out of ten when this happens play just continues but this was that exception. If it works in rugby what can't refs be given a bit more freedom to let things run on?
Well done that ref.

Royalgull, well done for taking the time to put the blog together. It's a good, if depressing read.

F.A Trophy semi final 2nd leg v Wrexham
If you are as old as me you will have seen quite few dire displays and this ranks down there with the worst of them.
Even a couple of seasons ago when we went 0 - 3 down to Aldershot just after half time, we didn't give up and, with a bit of good fortune we turned it round. We did the same decades before when Lincoln (who were in a lower division than us at the time) were winning 3 - 0 in an FA cup tie. What happens today? We huff and puff for three quarters of the match, give away a soft goal and capitulate.
Where is the team spirit, where is the galvanising effect of a manager inspiring his team?
