Re: Crewe home game
If it helps, I seem to remember the last home game of last season (v Chesterfield) was all-ticket - on the plus side I rocked up shortly before and got one, on the minus side there was (potentially) not so much at stake as this year.

Re: Who would YOU prefer?
I'd like Portsmouth to come down from the Championship (assuming they haven't been wound up by then) as my folks live in Sussex so I can combine a visit with an away match.
Exeter I'm not too fussed about to be honest, if we go up and they stay in League One we can do the double over them like we did with Plymouth this season, if they go down we'll be the best team in Devon (officially, we know we are anyway )
If we stay in League 2 I'd like Plymouth there as well for the same reason as above (another potential double), if we go up I don't care what happens to them.

Re: Predict the match which will confirm promotion..
Please tell me they're not asking which game will confirm promotion for them... or do they mean which match in the 2013-14 season will secure promotion from the Blue Square Premier?Gullscorer wrote:Inspired by a similar thread on PASOTI
As far as we're concerned, I'd go with the Hereford game as well.. also agree that Hereford is a lovely town, I stewarded the Big Chill festival last year and nipped off for a wander round before the festival started. A few decent bookshops too if memory serves!

Re: Greetings from down the road!
Not sure it was anything in particular, I'm tempted to say the fact that the ground is only a mile from my house but then as I mentioned in the original post, I lived about the same distance from Home Park for 5 years and managed to avoid that particular fate! I'd always been a total neutral, just watching internationals, FA Cup Finals etc on TV, started watching MOTD then the Football League Show when I worked nights at my previous job just for something to break the shift up, then watched at home and realised I was more interested in the lower leagues than the prem. Followed the progress of Torquay as they were my local club by this time - I'd thought about going to Argyle when I lived in Plymouth but never got round to it and the same applied to Torquay for a while, until one February Saturday last year I wasn't working, Torquay were at home, it was a nice day so it seemed the ideal opportunity. Even then I don't think I was totally hooked, but my second was the last home game of the season against Chesterfield and I loved the atmosphere - that did it for me!stevegull wrote:Just out of interest, Heaven and Hele, what tempted you to follow the mighty yellows? Just interested if some of our club's schemes are working...
I didn't mean to waffle on but I'm at work with over 5 hours to kill! In short it wasn't one thing that attracted me, I guess I was slowly drawn in...

Re: Late Kick Off
Good thinking, although TV progs are a bit of a grey area, still probably best not to keep the link up. Incidentally I've found Late Kick Off on a couple of torrent sites, not this region though.cambgull wrote:You should probably PM that mate, fairly sure there's some copyright issues!

Greetings from down the road!
I've been lurking on here a while so thought it was time I registered - I did register a while back under a different name but must have been deleted for not posting...
As my username suggests I live not far from the ground so I have the luxury of being able to walk to games! Unfortunately I work a lot of weekends so don't make it as often as I'd like - my first match was in Feb last year and I've now made it 8 (7 at Plainmoor, one away... at Argyle ). Hope to get to one or two more before the end of the season, and to even more next season in League One...
I'm originally from London, moved to Plymouth in 2002, then to Torquay in 2007 but never followed a team until recently (even though when I was in Plymouth I lived as close to Home Park as I do now to Plainmoor... think I had a lucky escape there...).
Will try to post more and not get my account deleted this time...
