Re: Michael Poke returns
Bloody great signing, absolutely thrilled, Poke is in my opinion the best we could have hoped for. I remember going to Bury at the end of the 2009/10 season(1st may to be precise). Bevan was out injured and Poke had an injury but had no sub keeper, he played the entire match through the pain barrier and Nico took the goal kicks it was that bad, but he helped us preserve our clean sheet record, albeit it carried on to the next season, we won the match 3-0 and ended Burys playoff hopes, great atmosphere we even had the congo after Rendells injury time goal. The point being he is dedicated, hard working and a nice guy.

Re: Has O'Kane Gone Yet?
Fantastic news if he is staying, does make me think though are the board happy with this one, where they banking on 175k coming in and now it(hopefully) ain't. Is the the 380k we have received enough to move to our new training ground, pay for the BB etc etc.

Transfer fees
As Bobby began the 4th highest transfer earner for Torquay, I am intrigued by Lee sharpes transfer, it states 180k plus 'friendly', so what was the result of the match and where was it played? I supported united around that time but cant remember playing them so please help me with this one

If the world does end, lets hope it after 5pm 22nd Dec, by then we would have just beat the scum and already have beaten Plymouth.

Re: Bobby to Peterborough?
Previously stated he is settled in London and having been a 'premiership player' for a few weeks will no doubt demand a decent wage so with that in mind, he wont be re-re-re joining Torquay.Gullscorer wrote:Now, should we go for Poke..?

Could be a pivotal week ahead
Could be a very interesting week ahead for Torquay and its fans.
Fixtures are released
Eunan, Bobby could both be sold, although the latter depends on when he gets back from his backpack trip
Ellis saga has to be sorted by Tuesday
And based on the above who will join us?

Re: Alarm Bells - Eunan to Crawley
Fleetwood have a bigger fan base and will do well in L2. As for you lot, enjoy it while it lasts, YOU wont survive in L1 with your gates, not a chance in hell. Just like us winning the BSP final against Cambridge was make or break for both of us, I do feel that FA Cup match between us decided the short term fortunes of both of us.NPL1 CTFC wrote:I've always thought it intriguing how other clubs seem to think they know so much about our finances, as if they really, really, really think they're being original by suggesting we'll go bust and that it's something our fans have never ever thought of. Amazing, I'd really like to know where they're getting their facts from, maybe they should pass it onto Crawley fans, better still the Crawley board, as I'm sure they'd be delighted to be enlightened.
And so what about how long we've been in the League ? You can't suddenly invent a history of being a FL club when, quite clearly, we haven't got one. On your lot's basis of thinking - and lets chuck in others such as Luton, Wrexham and Swindon - you can't be in the Football League if you're not already in it. Sounds like a closed shop to me. On that basis, shouldn't you lot be ducking out of the League 2 play-offs each season, afterall, League 1 doesn't really go with you does it ?
I'd have thought you'd be particularly coy about rights to play in the Football League, given that you only stayed up thanks to re-election and that lack of automatic promotion in the 1980s. Still, what was that about a closed shop....
Now, with Evans gone, and with moneybags Fleetwood now the league 2 newboys splashing the cash, presumably we can look forward to you starting on them? Afterall, surely they must be about to go bust anyday......

Re: Ellis to Argyle?
If he wanted to stay he would have signed before getting married(security)...as Torquay have heard nothing from him, hes gone. Do we really care...no. We only want people that want to play for us, no player is bigger than the club, its not as if he is premiership player, he is a league 2 player and its choice but as noone as put in a bid could make him fall flat on his arse.

Re: Capital One Cup - Leicester City at Plainmoor
Been on the Leicester fans forum(must be bored) and they are buzzing getting us, more so as its a good overnighter for them. So based on that alone expect a packed away end£££..One the match itself some are saying its easy but others are a bit sceptical, but personally I think its a great draw and if they do play fringe players, it will be a very open match.
