Luckily I’m working. Enjoy the beerSuperNickyWroe wrote: ↑06 Oct 2022, 20:59 Hi all,
Welcome to Yorkshire!
A visit to a flashy new stadium which is a bit out of the way of the city centre, which is a shame......
Looking forward to this more in trepidation than expectation.
York going well, spanked Barnet last week and now we visit them.....
Hopefully a result like Halifax and not Wrexham....
Looking forward to seeing all the Yorkshire and travelling Gulls from wherever you come from....
off to the Red Lion in Knapton pre-match if anyone fancies a pint.
Up the Gulls.

Why are we Bottom of the National League?
Recruiting young unknown U21 championship/league 1 academy players and losing the experienced back backbone from last season. It’s as simple as that. Many booed little last season oh boy do we miss him. The same could be said with Johnson.

A win against Maidenhead on Tuesday is very contentious given they have just beaten Chesterfield away. Oh bollocksUnitedinDevon wrote: ↑01 Oct 2022, 18:08 We will not win games with Marshall and Omar as our CBs
Marshall makes some cracking blocks but the bloke is hard wired to grab a player or shirt he is a huge liability. Seemingly cant head a ball either
First 20mins was great but we faded and surprise surprise - started hoofing the ball forward to their massive CBs who headed everything back the way it came
that game was there for the taking, i wanted 4pts from this double home header so a win is vital tuesday

Statistics like that are bad enough when you’re doing well. If this new group can redeem some sort of redemption then they must win. Another defeat will make that dressing room a morguedesperado wrote: ↑30 Sep 2022, 16:52 Well Scunthorpe have won once away (Boxing Day) in their last 37 away games
and not kept a clean sheet for 21 games
so you would think we must have a chance but we have won only 3 of our last 31 matches against them so are we due a win and a first home win ? and we simply have to win one of these two home games and draw the other . Can see us losing 3-2 though, long as it's not 8-1 as in 1995.

The only thing wrong with this squad is that it was smart price recruitment on a smart price budget. You buy premium you get better quality. There’s only so much Gary can develop crap. I’m afraid we have a team that is quite simply not up to the standard of National league experience, and we will suffer as a consequence

I was one of the 135 to witness a very welcome 3 points. We where already under strength regarding 1st team selection prior to the game, coupled with ridiculous heat the team chosen needs a Hugh amount of praise, let’s face it a further few in the squad weren’t match fit for a full game. Halstead was impeccable, and I can only applaud his comeback and fair play to him.
How many times have teams beaten us at plainmoor in recent seasons with there only shot on target, well this was our time. Yes it could have been 5-1 Halifax. But it wasn’t. We will improve for sure. The players reaction at the end just makes me realise we have a United group of players that will improve quickly

Grimsby Town v Torquay United, 23rd April 2022
Regrettably due to work commitments with the Dobber pub company I can’t make tomorrow. However enjoy your day mixing with those 3 arm , 4 legged inbreds. If only barrow and Grimsby could join together the world would be a safer place.SuperNickyWroe wrote: ↑22 Apr 2022, 09:40 The point of no return.
A game where we need three points to have any chance of reaching the play-offs and put a bit of a dent in one of our rivals.
At least the two teams will be looking to play football and the fans won't have to suffer the shenanigans of the Eastleigh players from Monday....
To those travelling to the fine place :} that is Grimsby for the first time, please note that the ground is actually in the seaside town- yes seaside town -of Cleethorpes.
For those requiring some liquid refreshment on arrival, the pub closest to the ground (Blundell Park Hotel) unfortunately no longer allows away fans in, so best to stay in Cleethorpes and visit the ones there - there is actually a pub on the railway station - the No.1 Pub - which will be helpful for the Inter-City Firm of Yokshire Gulls arriving by this method.....
There is also the imaginatively named ‘Number 2 Refreshment Room’ pub on the station approach, as well as an impressively sounding Wetherspoons called the Coliseum Picture Theatre which is on the High St. Although Mrs SNW regards Wetherspoons as "Dobber Pubs"
So, hopefully 3 points and another chance to take the p*ss out of the Grimsby fans again like we did when we sent them down after spanking them 3-0 with 10 men even after the Pickler got sent off.
Gee, the Cods weren't happy about that and wanted to discuss it with us afterwards..... :} ......But not in a polite way......
Safe travels to all those going to the game.
Up the Gulls.

As I’ve previously said it’s the hope that kills. But our game in hand is Stockport away. That being rearranged is a blessing in disguise if we are still in the frame. They will be champions by the time we play them on May 11th. Grimsby away is the match we have to win.

As for Parkinson - bad loser talking b*llocks in my book - blamed the pitch and the weather - same for both teams FFS. :slap:
Said they'd have won IF they'd have scored - Note to Parkinson - You didn't and lost 1-0 you complete tool.

Look forward to seeing the Yellow Army there - safe trip everyone!

Pretty much how I assessed the game. although I do feel they had the energy second half which we couldn’t match. But we didn’t deserve to losezebgull1 wrote: ↑30 Dec 2021, 22:57 Have to say I thought we were a bit unlucky, although not sure my opinion counts for much as I took my 4yr daughter so wasn't as focused as usual! Great team goal in the first half, Little and Wright linked up really well. Not wanting to disagree about the tiredness but to me it didn't really look like a physical issue, we had dominated the first half completely (and probably should have put the game out of sight) but when we came out for the second half we seemed to go into our shell, Eastleigh countered and hit us hard on the break and we lost our shape for a while. We seemed to be back on an even footing when the pen was given, will be interesting to see it back as it looked very soft and the ref turned away before apparently changing his mind. Second goal I missed as I turned away when Macdonald seemed to have caught it, can only presume he dropped it into his own net. Both teams had late chances but a disappointing result as I really felt we were the better team. Little was excellent (please can someone else take corners though), good vision and passing throughout, I thought Martin was great and we tore them apart down the left in the first half. Centre backs were very strong too, no-one really had a bad game so a shame to lose to two individual errors (ref and keeper). Wright was a threat but doesn't look quite back to his old self, CLE had a good game although not everything quite came off for him. Felt we went a bit too negative but easy to say afterwards as 0-1 at half time against a decent team I suppose it made sense, we definitely had chances in the first half which would have put the game to bed.
