Re: JPT - Swindon vs Torquay

noone really cares. I mean no radio coverage, kick off at 7 pm. Lets hope Buckle puts out the youth team and does not spunk us another three points like he did at Southend. This really is the most meaningless competition this side of nagasaki - even the judge at Plymouth Crown Court wouldn't realease the Argyle captain from jury service!
Reminds me of a joke - What do you call a judge with no thumbs?
Justice Fingers (cleaned that one up a bit)

My forecast for tonight - we will probably win. Buckle won't stop harping on about how well we played and we probably won't win a league game this side of Xmas.

Perhaps Bucks might include puffing Billy Kee tonight, which should ensure we get knocked out.

Re: Playing budget cut confirmed...

Trouble is as soon as Ellis is out the team we fall apart. If we sell a couple of our best assets then the team is going to be substantially weakened so we can't win either way.

Batton down the hatches for the normal relegation battle. One bloody striker - why does Buckle persist with this ridiculous formation.

Re: Playing budget cut confirmed...

Burnham - your similar to me then, around 80 miles to home games. I have had a season ticket for donkey's years but decided against it this year. Lack of any ambition by the club and current board was one of the reason I made my decision.
I am afraid we have Simon Baker on the radio this morning saying we need another five hundred on the gate. Well we are not going to get them with the current strategy in place, thats for sure.

Re: Playing budget cut confirmed...

Fonda - Up until this season I have always rocked up win or lose, but made a decision at the end of last season that I would cut down on matches i attend - it was hard missing the first game of the season, but I have sort of broken the habit of feeling that I need to attend every game.
Yes I miss it but so far have just seen the Bradford and Aldershot games.
What are we upposed to do? - I don't know but I did not employ Colin Lee and neither did I sanction the signing of rubbish like Mo Camara (and pay him loads in the process, including the cost of plane trips to his home in Leeds).
Ok we may have to pour more money into Lee's pockets but that doesn't mean I should spend my time travelling to watch a sub standard team.
I think its actually a bid odd that Buckle announces the budget cut by the way - I mean perhaps that would be better coming from the chairman but as he is completely faceless is that hardly suprising.
As we are so short of money - you might think we would sign a player who was fit to play and not one that isn't (Senda).
This is what I don't get about Buckle anyway - as soon as we go on a losing run the excuses start - I mean its not the first time he has trotted this one out (budget).
Or after the Southend defeat - it was the players were "tired" - yet he chose to play the first team in a meaningless JPT game days befiore. Same old Same old.
Perhaps if we are not able to make any signings we don't really need to employ John Milton - there is a saving to start with.
Mind you isn't the manager staying at Miltons house? - jobs for the boys maybe?

Re: Playing budget cut confirmed...

Two or three injuries and we will be completely bolloxed - if we get two or three players or injured or our assets get sold this season is going to be another relegation battle. Its all very well having to pay Colin Lee a substantial wad of money but this news hardly makes me want to fork out over fifty quid a time to get to home games. The board have cut down and so have I and I won't be attending too many more games either.
It just ain't worth the money.

Would he have said the same thing if they had lost? - I doubt it.

Re: Nicky Wroe dropped, injured or..?

Anyone willing to bet that Wroe will not be back in the team on Saturday. After O'kanes peformance in midfield on Tuesday it is clear that even an off forn Wroe is a better option.

Here here - lets face it he is a better winger than O'Kane.Macklin and Stevens put together.

Re: Torquay vs Aldershot Match Thread

If you actually think that our problems are just "not having someone to put the ball in the net" you are delluded. Aldershot were an average team but could have quite easily scored four in the last twenty minutes.
O'Kane isn't a central midfield player. Stevens is too lightweight. Branston and Charnock were all over the shop. There are plenty of problems there and none of those involve strikers.

Re: Torquay vs Aldershot Match Thread

In all fairness to Buckle on last nights evidence we havn't got it and he does not have alot in reserve. To the person who said we ought to start Kee - are you joking. I actually think that Ben Joyce has been eating all summer long, had a name change and returned to spite us.

We all know that Charnocks exclusion on Saturday probably cost us three points - the left footed argument does not stand up at all. Senda isn't fit.

3-1 at home to Macclesfield isn't bad - it is appalling.
