Dulwich Hamlet
I had several dabbles at 34/1 as I thought that was quite generous once Johnson was on board and it remained there for quite a few weeks.
Enjoyed the game yesterday, decent little ground, good atmosphere generated from both sets of fans, and the best team won, if at times living on the edge a little. Some outstanding saves from Mac and good finishing from our front two. It always felt like we would win but it was certainly a hard fought one. Interesting to note Johnsons comment about them playing games. Late to get on to the pitch (game ko'd at 3.06) and quite of few of the hamlet players were niggling away all afternoon. Long way to go but fingers crossed for promotion and a few quid in April £££.

Torquay United v Hemel Hempstead Town, Saturday 1st September 2018
First half forgettable. HH should have been out of sight. The biggest cheer being for Edwards showing some effort to chase after a lost cause and kind of reminding his team mates that the people paying to get in want above all else, to see some desire and effort from their team.
Was really difficult to see during that period what Owers was asking his team to do. HH playing through the thirds , getting on the ball and looking more comfortable as opposed to our confused tactics of seemingly hit it long, but to who?
2nd half totally different and we just need that standard week in week out. And aboce all show us some EFFORT!!! Wether it was a change of tactic or HH running out of steam who knows but we then start to get on the ball and play. Thought Regis was a totally differnet player second half, Keating offered more than Williams (why on earth did he make him captain!) Reid working hard again and deservedely got his goal (really dont know why some people are on his back) although defensively we were a little shaky.
A couple of very winnable games in the next few weeks with 6 pts there for the taking, should they show us the 2nd half display.

Go G.O!!
Team worked hard v Gloucester. That wouldnt suggest to me he has lost the dressing room.
If they work out how to create chances and open teams up we'll start to win a few.

....or someone walking in the car park.
I think Flaregate is getting a little overhyped. 3 went on the pitch, 1 made it to the 6 yard box, 2 were meekly dropped just over the advertising board.
All a little pathetically done really which mirrored the individuals doing it. Move on.

3-5-2 to 4-4-2 but in the end it didnt matter. We huffed and puffed and no doubt about it, they all put a shift in and worked hard but we lack any creativity or gameplan - I cant decide or both perhaps. Its not so much the strikers are not scoring its the fact we create so little that we simply have to put the 1 or 2 chances away that come along. Players at this level are also not good enough, they need 3 or 4 chances to take 1. We created 1 maybe 2 clear chances.
Enjoyed the afternoon though, stood by the dugout listening to owers instructions that made you think what they do all week in this full time outfit. Telling Bawling to push on, stay wide in his wing back role (which he looked liked he never played before ) because otherwise wed be playing 5-3-2, and George to stay middle at an attacking free kick that sailed over everyones head to the far post and being questioned by Dickson 'we also need somebody round the back' who subsequently turned away with his arms outstretched smiling. As if to say 'dyou know what your doing'
Oh for a big lump of a target man!
Good strong showing by the yellow army albeit muted in anything to cheer about. Shame on the schoolboys with the flares. Muppets!

I dont know why, but im going.
Went to Chelmsford where we didnt look like scoring. Listened to a few games since where we havent sounded like scoring so im travelling in anticipation of our play continuing to reflect the dourness of the manager. Its just not entertaining!
I may have just talked myself out of the 70 mile trip!

From the commentary, I thought we sounded a little like Saturday where I thought we were pretty solid, quite physical with some big units but created very little. Do wonder about Williams and Reid but will give all the benefit of the doubt in getting to know each other.
Incidentally, thought the commentary was pretty good with nigh on 300 listening in the 2nd half.

Put this on the other thread but Bobby Wilkinson resigned this evening as Hungerford Town manager. Wouldnt mind that.
