Potential Buyers

Its better news than a pheonix club in a league 4 or 5 below where we are now. People need to start puttng their money where their mouth is. Stop relying on one person to fund and contribute to a collective effort. Own it, be invested in it.

Staying Up - Relegation Battle

I think the quality of all non league has improved. Wether that is the introduction of academy’s at many clubs, sports science, overall number of qualified coaches in England in grassroots in the last 15 years or combination and more but I think it’s a better standard now. There is a decent game on right now with Worthing and Bath.
Having said that. We should have been doing better in this league this season with a full time team.

Osborne gone!

TorquayUnited wrote: 22 Feb 2024, 16:49 So TUST you have what you have wanted from the start.

So let's see now what you come with won't we.

TUST has the money in the bank to pay by end of May the 250 grand to make sure we fulfill our fixtures in 24/25 haven't you??

Otherwise why protest and want him out.

TUST killed the club all because they don't want a new ground and make the club money.

AFC Torquay sharing the rugby ground can do 1.

Buckland, Truro, and Newton Abbott Spurs and Plymouth Parkway are all laughing if you think you going to start up there.

Well done TUST for killing the club.

Osborne gone!

A day that has been coming for a long time. Either wealthy benefactor/s get involved (£5M in debt realistically who is the likely to be) or more likely I would say, club goes out of business and a phoenix club resumes in its place, at Plainmoor, a few leagues below where we are now.

He may have been propping up the club for the past few years but not sure how anyone can bemoan the loss of Osbourne. It would have ended this way in end or playing at some inadequate stadium with punters increasingly peed off at the level of interaction and on pitch success or lack of it as the guy doesnt care. Good riddance.

People knock the TUST but theyve got themselves organised and probably in a better position now than the near miss a few years ago. Was the reason I joined at that time and have remained as a silent member.

The near term road may be tricky but there will be a club in some form at Plainmoor.

Was also surprised a few of those questions got through although the lack of audience I guess stopped the questioning to the responses. Thats coming apparently!

I dont think hes wrong in stating the need for greater revenues in any move to a new stadium, i dont have the details on the swindon, reading, poole stadiums or lack of and his comments but certainly worthy to research prior to any fans forum in person. It did sound like it was everyone else fault however.

My fear is we get some lesser stadium than the one now and suitable only for the level we are at. I went to Havant the other week and that springs to mind.

I just didnt get the last ish response to getting his outlay back. Hes basically willing to let £6M go down the drain, could be £7 or £8M by the time we get stadium or EFL achieved, and it just doesnt add up. I dont think hes such a weathly person to let that go just for the fun of projects! BS!

Anyway, watching with caution. Whatever you think of them, kudos to the TUST for playing their part in getting this lot out of the woodwork. Havent seen any of them for years and now CO turns up twice in a month. They must be wary! Didnt know Edwards was a scouser or sounded like one from his repeated 'UNITED!'

Game devoid of quality but it is 6th division football. Worked hard and never gave up chasing for the 3pts. Deserved to win the game and should have done so more comfortably with a number of 2nd half chances going begging. Considering the injuries, nursing others in the team and the one that’s available at the moment it’s been a positive weekend.

I’d argue that comes from within. In whatever form of working life you are in, do you rely on your manager for attitude or is that from yourself?

Went to game yesterday, pretty poor first half when the team were just not at the races. Don't think you can blame Johnson for that, attitude and desire were not there and Slough the better team and up for it.
Appalling surface, just hate artificial pitches for Senior football (its ok for Wednesday night walking football) , the ball doesn't run true and they were no doubt used to it but that's what you get in semi amateur football i guess. 2nd half we turned up and Ash scored a couple of well taken goals. The boy can finish, no doubt about that and would imagine he will better last seasons tally as the season progresses.
3pts, early season, we will get better, stop dooooooom merchants!

Torquay v Chippenham Town 15/08/23 19:45

Hard working if unspectacular performance (probably due to lacking confidence). I think we deserved to win, first half pretty even although Chippenham didnt really threaten. Second half i thought we noticeably stepped up the pace, moving the ball quicker and were slightly the better team before they went down to 10 men. Disappointing to concede so soon after scoring but it was a wonderful curving ball into the box (was right behind it) for their equaliser.
The effort was certainly there from the team. Thought Martin and Lapslie were excellent and good to see the former back as alot of the positive play in1st half was down the left hand side. Not too sure the front two have clicked yet, they seemed too far apart from each other, but im sure that will come with games. Ash looks to have some pace and like the rest of the team worked hard. Keep that up lads.

Worrying though the injuries, hope we can put a team out on Saturday.
