Current squad

aggrey_25 wrote: 29 Jan 2020, 15:30 Koszela clearly isn’t thought of highly enough by GJ as he doesn’t give him any time!!

Lewington has played about 8 minutes.

If he’s good enough play him!! That’s not difficult.

All we have is Reid uptop it’s not enough is all I’m saying, he needs support
No - what you actually said was if Torquay sign Tyler Harvey in the coming days then Peter Johnson should immediately lose his job.

Either take it back and apologise or own it and defend it!

Current squad

I can only reasonably assume some Torquay 'fans' just enjoy/wish the club to burn.

An offer of mid-table in the National League (closer to the playoffs than the relegation zone) 18 months ago would have any fan wishing the best for the club rejoicing.

Yet some are now campaigning for blood from the best coaching set-up that we have had in many young fans living memories.

Simply disgusting in my book.

Good to see you back, Rich 😉
Thanks Dave. Had to keep away from the Johnson out thread for a while!

Will always give anyone a chance but the problem I have is Johnson clearly did not fancy him at any point last season nor this one until what seemed like a sealed deal fecked off to the Cobblers instead. If true it seems a little desperate and also like we had little or no plan B.

Re: Clarke Osborne

Any transfer fee (should he go in Jan or at the end of the season if he is on a 2 year deal) will only be as good or bad as the release clause he is certain to have in his contract (unless he employees Mickey Mouse as an agent!).

Talk of what he is worth to us and what we should be prepared to accept for him will not even come into the discussion if another club activates this. Of course Reidy can turn down a transfer but it is highly unlikely Torquay United can (even if they wanted to).

MOTM - Boreham Wood

Wynter - was brilliant today
Shagger - great assist and what a goal!
Opi Edwards - changed the game. Was brilliant when he came on.
Little - Really looked the part. Oxford must be insane!
Cameron - Gary Owers got many things wrong - but recruiting this guy was a great decision. Solid as.

New Signings?

TUFC__12 wrote: 30 Jul 2019, 11:30 Heard quite a few people saying Connor Lemonheigh Evans is supposedly coming back, most probably rumours but would be a great signing although we do need a CB.
Can't see it personally. We have Little, Andrews, Hall, Vincent and Dickson who fill central midfield so we seem well catered for in this area when compared to all the others (especially the back 4). Suspect it will be Buse announced on a contract, a return loan of Edwards and also a centre-half in on loan.

New Signings?

Suspect today was the signing of contracts/loan arrangements along with publicity vids /pics and the announcements follow.

Vincent returns...

As expected the club have announced his return on a season long loan. Liked the glimpses I saw of him last year so good news in my book. Midfield looks very strong but we are clearly lacking in the centre half department although with no trialists in this position I am confident there are cemented plans to resolve this.

2019/2020 Kits

torregull wrote: 11 Jul 2019, 08:56 Far bigger clubs than us have struggled to market their brand globally, and it would take a lot more effort than just promoting an attractive shirt design on-line.
I'm sure a few will be purchased by our exiles abroad, but beyond that I'd be very surprised if many are sold globally;or as a result of Pro-direct's marketing we create an new overseas fan-base.
Perhaps we need some more explanation from George Edwards as to what the club's realistic goals are in this respect .
Why? I am not sure the club need to brief fans or do I think fans 'deserve' to know aspects such as this! The club will measure income from this year against previous ones and will then see if it was the correct approach and fair play to them from going against the grain and looking proactively at things.

From fans point of view all we really need to consider is if you like the shirt/s and if you are happy to pay £45 to obtain one then do so. If not then don't!

Personally I will be buying the blue one and I think all the kits (with the badge being used on the them) look great so I am pleased with the approach and congratulate the designer of them.

If we are going back to yellow shirts and blue shorts I will be pleased. Much prefer those home colours than the all yellow kit and reflects the colours of the English Riviera as well.

Etc etc..... Jake Andrews has signed a 2 year deal to stay at Plainmoor as a bona fide Torquay United player
Hahaha - Mr Exclusive! (all you did was read BTPIR and start a thread on here!.) Remind me again when Rob Green's arrival at Woking was officially announced!

Great signing and some really good young players all signed up on two year deals shows just how much we have changed under the stewardship of GJ.
