Squad as it stands:
GK - MacDonald
GK - Covolan
DF - Wynter
DF - Cameron
DF - Niate
DF - Davis
MF - Keating
MF - Kalala
MF - Hall
MF - Dickson
MF - Little
ST - Reid
ST - Koszela
ST - Duku
Within the the recently released video update Gary talks about bringing two more in (this was prior to the Duku signing) meaning we would have a squad of 16/17 with 2/3 loans also arriving. I am at 15 (when one more comes in) so have I missed something?

Jake Andrews signs .....
I see this has been mentioned elsewhere but I must say your approach is pure clickbait neediness! So basically you read a post on BTPIR suggesting it may be the case and then created this thread... well done you! Being the font of knowledge that you are - remind me again when was the Rob Green Woking announcement?Teigngull wrote: ↑10 Jun 2019, 00:35 Rumour has it that Jake Andrews has signed a thank you card to the TQ1 supporters for making him feel welcome during his loan spell from Brizzle city.
He was made to feel so welcome that HE HAS SIGNED A 2 YEAR CONTRACT to stay with the gulls in their quest for a return to the EFL .

I know off-season is silly season but are we actually discussing Andy Carroll and the chance of him signing for TUFC?!

2019/2020 Kits
The new kits were revealed weeks back at the presentation evening. They showed 4 shirts (one being the limited edition which is already on sale) so the others are soon to be released. The blue one looks spectacular!

Cheltenham announce retained list
I would imagine he would find regular first team football at league level but I also thought GJ would never join a National South mid-table team so never rule it out!MellowYellow wrote: ↑20 May 2019, 11:27 Much speculation about forthcoming player signings. So here is another for the transfer rumours page.
Billy Waters has been made available for transfer by Northampton Town. The 24-year-old spent the second half of the 2018/19 campaign back at Cheltenham Town on loan, having spent two seasons with the Robins between 2015 and 2017. So one of GJ's original selected signings.
His move to Northampton did not go as planned and it is possible that Cheltenham may step in for him again. However, Waters like all footballers wants regular football and given his previous Cheltenham links with GJ and AD it is possible that he may be interested, if approached.
Water found the net 27 times in 69 starts under GJ,at Cheltenham firstly helping the club to win promotion back to the EFL and then secure their EFL status in 2016/17. Whilst under GJ at Cheltenham, Waters was Cheltenham's player of the season and top scorer in 2016/17

Kalala was not a marquee signing on paper - but I would suggest he would now be one for any club at our level. If GJ signed some of these players with the expectation they are good enough for league football (and I trust his judgement) and should he go back to them now then that is marquee enough in my book!CP Gull wrote: ↑17 May 2019, 10:24 I wonder whether GJ might Iive to regret that remark! Personally, I don’t think we should set our expectations too high this summer Nick. The names I suggested (Duku apart) were regulars in a mid table League Two side last season and as such are probably a “cut above” the National League, but they are the sort of players at what is after all a higher level than we are at, that I would imagine GJ is looking to recruit from.

TUFC 2019/20 Squad
Seems bizarre some have written off players who (under GJ) basically won the league in by ten points in thirty games. Johnson gave ten players contracts for next season knowing he was planning for the National League and I trust his judgement in that he thinks they are good enough. We won this league with a record points total, a record of goals scored and a record for fewest goals conceded - all after being bang average for a quarter of the season under Owers.
View1 is right - any National League side would be overjoyed at signing a striker who scored a record number of goals and was voted player of the year for the whole league by their peers in the league below. We already have him!
We have not sneaked through the playoffs with a lucky promotion here and the team has grown so much that it is unfair to compare individuals from previous performances (often in positions and tactics unsuited to their natural game) from previous seasons at the level we are entering.
It is nice (for once!) to go into the summer with a strong backbone already in place and I am sure what we will add will further strengthen the squad that has performed magnificently under GJ.

A plea to TUFC fans at Woking on Saturday
Let's hope Torquay have arranged for the Stewards who are charged with stopping those with a banning order from entering Plainmoor are travelling and will be in place (with Woking's approval) to identify and stop entry for these teenage troublemakers.
Headlines and discussion should be what the manager and team have achieved.

Jamie Reid (again, probably)
Nice sentiment but great irony in the fact you bring back into focus a long dead thread where he was getting a fairly hard time off a large proportion of our fanbase!Swatcat wrote: ↑04 Apr 2019, 00:24 One of the heart-warming aspects of Torquay's brilliant Gary Johnson era this season, is a turnaround for your local boy Jamie Reid. Having hit 30 goals now his fan rating will be 'off the scale', vis the early criticism he received. Well done GJ but most of all - well done Jamie.
To pick yourself up after all that 'approbation' shows some real strength of character. Never look back now Jamie !
(But oh those penalties - my own Swatcats would be topping the Thai Premier League but for our own Brazilian, Leandro Assumpcao's 2 penalties missed and 4 points gone !)

Torquay United v Chelmsford 5th March 7.45.
Hi Stan. Many thanks for your insight. Can I ask if a club/official can call a game off using the predicted weather forecast as evidence for doing so?Linostan wrote: ↑05 Mar 2019, 19:47 To Bert. In these instances it does take at least half an hour to inspect a pitch as it is not an easy thing to call off a match when everything has been organised and fans are on there way - especially away fans. I know because having been a Class 1 in the past I have had to call off a match on a number of occasions. Better to call it off at late notice than half wat through.
I am sure the pitch was playable until a few hours before kick off but they would also be aware if the predicted weather was to be the reality then the game would be off (as has happened tonight ).
