Torquay United v Slough Town sat 10th

I cannot remember ever going to Plainmoor and seeing the visitors score a total of 15 goals in 4 consecutive games. Johnson and Downes should be ashamed of themselves. This is unprofessional and the both know it.

Stats do not lie. Excluding the bottom 4 teams only Dartford have 14 losses the same as Torquay!!

Excluding the bottom 4 teams we have conceded 54 goals more than any other team that is 19 teams. In 31 games we have had 5 clean sheets and 2 of those were in the first month of the season. We are going from poor to very bad quickly.

If Osborne digs his heels in and refuses to change Johnson and Downes then they have to work out a better formation and decide to do whatever it takes to make us harder to score against.

Worthing are 2nd but have conceded 48 goals the 5th worst ignoring the bottom 4. However they have scored 72 goals 11 more than Yeovil thanks to Ollie Pearce with 29 goals.

What we lack most is experience in the back four. Just 2 experienced guys could make a huge difference. Time is running out.

Torquay United v Slough Town sat 10th

Well I hope we play 4-4-2 tomorrow.
With Halstead in goal this is my line up.

Jude -Boyd Booth Nelson ( left footed) Moxey

Lapslie McGavin Hall WJD

Big Duane Ash

I assume Jarvis Dawson Stobbs and Marshall will not be fit although Stobbs might be on the bench.

Message to the "protesters"

As North Curry House says and supported by Skillsy our job tomorrow is to give our full backing to the team. OUR TEAM.

If you cannot do that stay away. When times are bad that is when you have to inspire the team with your whole hearted support.

I am backing the team to play really well tomorrow because they know to a man they let us down last Saturday and they let the Club and themselves down.

I back them 100% and go 3-1 to the Gulls. COYY.

Truro Away - Now at Taunton - ? Date

Booth was interviewed at Seale Hayne on 1st or 2nd I guess on 1st which would not have happened unless he had signed.

New Blue Card

Tomorrow we will learn the full story but it means a 10 minute sin bin for a cynical foul or dissent.

We do of course have a precedent for the Truro v TUFC Match being played at Plainmoor.

It really does make a lot of sense for all parties.

Torquay United v Maidstone TUE 6th Feb

Well a visit to Maidstone could not come at a worse time. Our record at Maidstone is very poor.

I have just had a head count. If you exclude the 16 year old 1st Year Pros and if the following 7 players remain on the injured list we have just 11 Players plus Lovett as back up Goalkeeper.

The injured list is Dawson, Jarvis,Stobbs,Hanson, Marshall, Duane and Craske. So Lovett will be joined on the Bench by 4 16/18 year olds with little or no experience.

Am I being too pessimistic? It depends on the fitness of 4 players who might just recover in time namely Hanson, Marshall, Stobbs and Duane.

The current squad has just 1 loanee Will Jenkins Davies who will play for certain.

Surely we need to bring in at least 2 emergency loans?

I very rarely predict we will lose but this time my head and not my heart goes 4-0 to Maidstone.

Torquay United v St. Albans - 03rd February 2024.

I am sorry to say today represented a new low and rarely have I seen so much fury from Season Ticket Holders in Bristows Bench.

This was an abject performance all round. St Albans played like a team who all knew one anothers game and they were quick and incisive and in Jeffers had a striker at the Top of his Form.

In contrast we continued to pass poorly, hoof the ball particularly Halstead and never looked like getting back into the game once St Albans scored.

Maidstone away on Tuesday must be counting on 3 points as in all honesty I can see us getting a real hammering.

God knows what Lee Johnson thought of his old mans team today but there is no other conclusion than it is an absolute shambles.

Torquay United v St. Albans - 03rd February 2024.

Out of 25 predictions 7 think St Albans City will win at Plainmoor tomorrow. The team MUST know they have to produce their best game this season.

The players have just got to get their act together. No sloppy passing, take your chances, no ball watching, no running beside an opponent for 50 yards without making a winning tackle, concentrate, be aware, use your pace, and remember you are supposed to be FULL TIME PROFESSIONAL Footballers.

We the Fans MUST get behind the team and hope and pray they give their all and we get a competent REF.

National League South Form

Well would you believe it!

Hampton & Richmond after an amazing run of form lost tonight when Welling in 21st and down to 10 men won 2-1. Hampton have now lost 3 on the bounce.

On Monday night WSM score in 92 minute to draw 1-1 at Chelmsford.

It just goes to show that at this level it is all about who makes the least mistakes and form is very unpredictable unless you are Yeovil Town.

3-1 winners tonight over Slough and a massive lead of 13 points from Worthing in 2nd.

With 18 games to go I really cannot see us finishing higher than 5th unless something really strange happens like last season when we had a terrific run to very nearly escape the drop.

Worthing v Torquay United - Saturday 27th January 2024

To Big Dave I am going to Spec Savers in the morning!

To Dave if she is that experienced I am surprised she missed a clear Pen.

I would have said exactly the same had the Ref been a man. It is not over analysis it cost us.
