That's true! As for Trump v Obama, which seems to be of concern to Orange Gull, this may be factual or opinion or both, but certainly worth a read: http://www.breitbart.com/big-government ... apologism/

Orange Gull wrote:A central plank of Trump's campaign was calling Obama out for his weak stance on Islamic terrorism, urging him to mention "radical Islamic terrorism". Strange then that when presented with the opportunity to address this on his first trip to Saudi Arabia, Trump's rhetoric seems to be no different to that of the previous administration.

The next General Election: who will you vote for?

Orange Gull, you're the mendacious one. I provided those links to give you an opportunity to research for yourself and discover the facts. It seems you're not interested. In fact, thus far you haven't backed up any of your own assertions. The links you provided? Sky, like most of the media, is anti-Trump, a most unreliable source; and Politifact, whose media sources are also mainly biased towards the Democrats, is hardly factual, as anybody checking out those sites will see for themselves.

As for promoting 'half-baked racist conspiracy theories', obviously you are referring to my post on another thread, and your dishonest and extremely offensive response. Perhaps people should take a look at my own reply to see what I mean, and judge for themselves.

Whinge, Moan, Rant And Anything Else Put It Here ...

Well, well.. I was, or thought I was being, non-committal. This was the first time I've come across this particular topic and I thought it might be of interest. When I encounter something new I research and collect all possible information before making up my mind. Yet already my post is condemned as 'entirely based on ignorance designed to inflame feelings of hatred between people of different ethnic and cultural backgrounds', and I am 'promoting the same ideas as washed up racists'. Merely by mentioning, in an objective way, something which may be of interest. But it seems to be typical of those on the political left to immediately 'shoot the messenger' in an attempt to close down discussion, to silence and censor whoever and whatever they don't want heard. That's totalitarianism. Thanks very much but in an open democratic society I prefer people to inform themselves and discuss the issues and to make up their own minds. By the way, the link I provided was what appears to be an anti-EU website. Obviously, in some quarters, merely to be anti-EU is to be on the extreme right.

Whinge, Moan, Rant And Anything Else Put It Here ...

To hate blacks is, obviously, to be racist. But to hate the white Caucasian race? And to actively plot for its extinction? Sounds a bit far-fetched.

So I decided to investigate. Seems it has something to do with the EU. And with the recent waves of immigrants and refugees from Africa and the middle East. For me, at the moment, the jury is still out. More research to be done.

I'm totally against any form of racism. But I'm also against social engineering and manipulation of populations by powers-that-be. You can begin reading about this for yourself. Conspiracy theory? Or evil reality? Certainly food for thought:

The next General Election: who will you vote for?

It's true we're all prone to making mistakes and misjudgements, and we can only do out best to make the right decisions and follow the right path.
As for the extreme right, they exist of course, but not in my part of the world, it seems. From what I've seen they are a miniscule minority who often work in small groups or individually as the recent Islamic terrorist actions have shown, and of course they should not be ignored.
On the other hand, the extreme left has been on the ascendancy for some time. Their power and influence is prevalent in the education system, politics, law, and the media, out of all proportion to their actual support in society. This phenomenon has grown not only in the UK, but in practically all first world countries worldwide. They claim victimhood whilst attempting to silence and censor all opposing views.
This is most noticeable (but only marginally so) in North America, where college authorities cave in to students demanding that talks by those they don't agree with must be shut down.
This is just one example (there are many more):
OK one more: students claiming to be anti-Fascist behaving like, yes, Fascists: http://edition.cnn.com/2017/01/14/us/mi ... index.html

Exeter playoff

A quick mention here for Exeter Chiefs: they score a try in the final minute at Sandy Park today, beating Saracens 18-16 in front of a twelve-and-a-half-thousand crowd to reach the sell-out final at Twickenham. Good luck to them too.

The question is: whatever happened to Torquay Athletic RFC ?

In which case, ManxGull, you naturally have my commiserations, but you do sound rather like the woman who has a bad experience with one man (perhaps her father or boy-friend) and then decides that all men are like that, so making the personal into the political. Take care: from such seeds do prejudice and bigotry grow. Better to look objectively at basic principles to see if they stand up.

ManxGull, I suggest you look back over these recent posts.
First: 'lies, distorts, and misrepresents': I was referring to the BBC, not the first time I have either criticised them or pointed out others' observations. Yet you respond with personal attacks on me.
Secondly, 'I am quite happy for them to compare and decide for themselves who is the bigot and hypocrite. Are you?' Note, I was asking a question. How you can deduce from this that I am calling you a bigot and hypocrite is beyond understanding. I don't need to. People will look at our posts and decide for themselves.
Finally, as for particular political labels, mentioned in my previous post, I was making general inclusive references and universal all-embracing points, which you took personally and responded in an even more personal way. You can, of course, choose whichever label you want. If the cap fits, wear it. Then get someone to take a photograph.. :)

There must be a reason why Arsene Wenger and Paul Tisdale are the two current longest-serving football managers. The main reason has to be that they are bloody good managers..

The next General Election: who will you vote for?

ManxGull wrote: 19 May 2017, 22:48aye maybe but my problems with ukip and a minority of its voters are much more personnel so ill celebrate their defeat without looking at the big picture

Other people do look at the big picture, and have problems with Labour and LibDems and Women's 'Equality' Party and Greens and SNP and minorities of their voters, and will celebrate the defeat of these parties. In politics as in many other areas of life, it is essential to look at the big picture. Unfortunately, many indoctrinated ideologues refuse to take off their blinkers and ideological spectacles.
