Plymouth City Council's £800k loan to Argyle

Behind-the-Gulls wrote:Meanwhile another one of Brent's/Akkeron's vanity projects,Oldway Mansion, deteriorates daily as Torbay Council waits patiently for him/them to fulfil their promises.
I believe its been close to 2 years since he/they purchased it from Torbay council. Its a beautiful building (and grounds) and should be treated with the respect that a piece of architecture, of Oldways magnitute, deserves. Instead its just been left to rot and crumble. Disgraceful. :@

Don't suppose there is any chance you want the enigma which is Copper back is there?

So enigmatic we are not ever sure what his name is ;-) I think its Cooper. :)
Unless, of course, we have signed somebody called Copper. I know the OS is sometimes a bit slow with updates......

The club are struggling enough, as it is. If they lower admission prices, then nobody will have to worry, because we wont have a team to support.

How much do you want to pay to get in and watch a game? To make it really worth something to you/us the supporters, they would have to reduce prices by, say £5, per ticket. A nice saving for us, but to the club, with an attendance of 2,500, I'm sure you can all do the maths, is £125,000 per game! How long do you think TUFC would survive? All so that, each one of us who attends, can "save" £115 per season on admission.

Yes, of course we all want the best value for our money, but for any business to survive it has to make more money than it spends. £115 is a tidy sum, but your £115 equates to £287,500 in lost revenue, for TUFC (At 2,500 "gate") over a 23 home game season.

Thats my thinking, as well Lucy. I always felt the same about Billy Kee. I know they are young (Well Billy was/is) but for goodness sake!! Do you want to play football or not? Sadly its not always possible to play for the team that has its home ground near to your Mum's house. Shock horror.

Good job the young lads who fought for our freedom, in Normandy, didn't say the same thing. "Sorry Sarg, cant go to France, today, as its a bit of a long way and I might get home sick. :Z

Man up fellas. ;-)

Having said that, I would like to wish Nath all the best, wherever he goes. I always liked him. Same with Billy. Fair dues, he has stayed at Burton (Near to his Mum) but he has a wife and, I believe, a very young baby now so I guess he has "Manned Up" ;-)

Nicky wroe

Nicky Wroe was never a team player. Most useless captain we have ever (Well in the last 10 years) had. IMHO.

We are going to have to all pull together, in the conference. Nicky Wroe back to TUFC?. No thanks.

PhilGull wrote: I assume you're referring to our board. If they were to hold a fans forum now what would you want them to say? That they made mistakes, that they are going to learn from them, that they are sorry? What benefit is that going to give us, apart from a few fans revelling in the public humiliation of some bloke called Bill.

We don't need words from the board, we need action in the form of support for the manager to put together a squad of players good enough to compete at the top end of the table. And on that front all the noises I am hearing say so far, so good. Of course, all the noises from Knill were good this time last year, but that's a whole other story!

Spot on.

Mansell gone?

Commit or bugger off. (Not just manse. Any player that has been made an offer) Don't mess the club (Or the fans) about. We had the same situation with Rene Howe. Offer on the table at christmas, P****d about until the end of June before deciding that TUFC were not good enough for him. :@

Appreciate that players have to think over the offers that they have been made, but as a previous poster said (Apologies can't remember who it was) you either want to play for Torquay or you don't.

If I was in charge I would allow them a max of 14 days, from offer on table, to making a decision. If no decision is made, by the player, then withdraw the offer. Simples.
