Anybody else miss this club logo/badge?

I think we ought to have a much better logo, granted it is not a priority. The old one is good in the respect it actually says Torquay United, but I think we could do better. It does give me nostalgia though!

I'd like to see our full name in the badge, a palm tree, the sea/beach and a gull!

I don't think you'll find anyone with a replica of the 'Chelsea' shirt because they weren't really a thing in the mid-eighties as far as lower division clubs were concerned. The earliest TUFC shirt I had was the 1989 Sherpa Can Trophy shirt (and very nice it was too), still got it but it is several sizes too small.

I hear what you're saying, the connection with the badge I preferred is obviously linked to the Dave Webb era, that may not sit easy, but it was a class badge/club crest,The blue kit was a real suprise, very much a Chelsea blue,I don't know anyone who had it as a replica shirt?,again,it wasn't that bad,and if we'd of had a decent team it probably wouldn't of mattered that much, but we were shocking, and it's another bad memory for a lot of fans,I get that,I really do.This probably should be on a different thread, but what is Webby up to or doing now?,he must be in his 70's, hopefully he's in good health.

They represent Gull's wings. It was introduced in 1968 when the wings were the other way up and then inverted as they appear now ten years later.
I'm surprised someone actually likes the palm tree badge because of its association with Dave Webb.

This emblem was on the shirts at the end of the Sixties, when we were up the top.of the old Third Division ( now League One). Now that was a PROPER team. I was only a boy but I think it was meant to be the Gulls wings.

Ian Hayman would know the details, he use to sell programmes ( as did I) around this time.

Isn’t it meant to be two ship sails?

The only good thing about 84 to 86 in my opinion was the club badge (palm trees) awesome club crest for me it was the best, this wings design or badge is naff.

nope, don't really miss it.

Very much of its time. Looks like something somebody knocked out on a late 80s, early 90s version of Corel Draw. Was fine for then, but looks dated now.

I like the current one. It's modern.

Growing up this was the badge I associated with Torquay United it's a shame they changed it.
