Totally disagree. It's ok to not have a drum if you're inside the ground in the bundesliga or most other places around Europe but when you are part of 100 fans stood bored rigid inside Gigg Lane then a drum is a must otherwise people just fall asleep. There is something primeval about the sound of a beating drum and it gets people up and interested, certainly if you're the one stood / sat next to the skinsman. :~D
