New website
New website
Does anybody know when the new website will be launched? I was expecting this to have happened by now....
Probably the same time the season tickets will be ready or the names on the seats changed or the new badge changed throughout the stadium, maybe even when the new stadiums open or the new purpose build academy, the list goes on..........

We at Barrow had a similar problem when Brian Keen was our Chairman. The board of directors identified that the web page was outdated and poorly designed, but it took several years for a replacement to be launched. I know next to nothing about the web, but it seems projects like this a prone to overrunning their schedule.

Barrow, Barrow, Barrow. Who, on this TORQUAY site, gives a shiny shite?
And your comment is bollox anyway. It CAN take just minutes to launch a new website, depending upon the expertise, cost and the degree of priority.

It's probably just a different wordpress theme to replace the current basic one running at the moment. I used to use wordpress when we had a main site on here, good open source script with full control unlike the nonsense the club were contracted to before.

It will be close but I reckon we will get the new website just before we get a new ground. We still probably won't have found a free scoring 6 foot five centre forward by then but never mind we certainly don't want one who insists on a release clause.

This is true but I've spent quite a bit of time dealing with a Wordpress environment for a business and you have to make sure that whover runs it keeps it up-to-date. Quite a few of the plugins can have security flaws that will require an update to keep secure, and that's a pain in the ass. It took me a year to convince the execs to let me close it down, and that was only after somebody emailed the CEO saying "you're a $4bn company, why is your website trying to sell me Viagra?"

To be fair that's one of many reasons I took this site back to basics.

right; I doubt they have the staff to worry about that.
hell, I found a potentially serious security flaw on the club shop the other day and it took them 3 days to even respond to me about it (sidenote: if you order from the club shop site, make sure you sign in: the 'pay as guest' thing makes it fairly easy to find personal information.)

Up at here at York..........................................ok, i'll get me coat.
Anyway, do they even use computers in Barrow? I know they like to hurl rocks at opposing teams supporters coaches with disabled fans inside up there. Must be all those fingers.
Such moronic behaviour, I wish tools like that would leave their 'hooliganism' back in the past where it belongs. I have never understood some people's need to be aggressive towards other fans, after all it is just a game!Yorkieandy wrote: ↑20 Jul 2017, 14:07 Up at here at York..........................................ok, i'll get me coat.

And you've got me 'hooked' on Whitby, Wivel. I always look for their results in my Sunday rag ...... mainly becaise i fear for your sanity !!!
I have to add that I think Paul Cox is a good guy and i hope he continues to do well at Barrow.
