Wow. A few injuries and we have a bench like that! Fallon would be the most uninspiring signing going and indicates we have hit the bottom of the barrel recruitment wise.
A midfielder at both CB and LB shows how weak we are numbers wise.

The bench isn't being effectively used for a friendly.

I agree; piss poor and indicative of the manager's lack of contacts, ability to make signings and employment of that buffoon with the tractor tyres........how many more 'sicknotes' before the season has even started?

Nicholson is employed as a player manager who doesn't play and it could be argued isn't managing very well wither.

This is a feckin' joke!

We're obviously pretty short squad wise. Even with everyone fit we barely go past the first XI at the moment, so any injuries will leave us exposed.

We're trying to stretch the budget by getting a late bargain, and we'll probably need a few free loans to fill out the squad - players who will do pre-season with their parent club and then go out on loan in August. Both these factors combined means we're very short of players right now, but long term it's for the best if we want to be competitive. Beggars can't be choosers and all that.

We've got 11 players starting the game who could easily be in the starting XI come 5th August. Maybe not all in their preferred positions, but at least getting some minutes in their legs and a familiarity with each other.

We are 1-0 down, Graham Carey scored in the first half.

Jamie Reid hit post and James Gray hit the bar for us. Clarke also saved a penalty from Jervis - video: https://x.com/Greenarmy46/status/887397072382509057

Fallon and Odubade on for Keating and Reid after an hour.

But I thought one of the reasons Dave Phillips gave for appointing Nicho was that he had many contacts built up during twenty years in the game.

Good question. I wondered how many of the very sub standard trialists in pre-season have been recommended by the Head of Recruitment?
