It certainly feels like the season is starting soon when the upcoming fixtures are released. We must feel left out when the premier league and football league clubs have had there fixtures already. Roll on 1pm Wednesday 5th July. In theory the release of the fixtures will see us play every home and away so why be bothered. But, for exiles and those looking for weekends away it generates massive interest.

As a northern based fan( not an exile) I would welcome an away match at FC Fylde in August or early spring. As for Torquay based fans, away travel takes a new dimension this season, further travel, I feel for you. Let's hope Hartlepool, Barrow and Gateshead away are not in the winter. This season has a good spine of a squad, so surely relegation isn't a concern.

Two away games in a row on 30th September and 7th October preferably to none of the new teams would be ideal for selfish reasons as I'm on holiday then.

I've got my eyes on away games at Solihull, Tranmere, Chester, Wrexham, Macclesfield and the London clubs!

Looking at the map of conference clubs, Eastleigh looks the nearest to Torquay now. Will that be our most likely Boxing Day and New Years Day fixture?

Hopefully the compilers have Torquay vs Barrow very early in the season. I have not visited the English Riviera for over 2 decades now, and I plan to take a relaxing weekend break to co-incide with Barrow's fixture and some nice Sun.

To be honest it's a bit of a dump nowadays. All Chav locals and stag/hen parties.

I think there is a risk this season of us getting a crap Xmas:New year double header. Every season there seem to be two odd teams who can't be paired, and I fear we might be one.

If it's not us, I'd imagine Eastleigh v Maidenhead might be a pairing.

The obvious pairings (to me anyway) are:

Orient and Dagenham
Hartlepool and Gateshead
Barrow and Fylde
Maidstone and Ebbsfleet
Bromley and Dover
Aldershot and Woking
Wrexham and Tranmere
Guiseley and Halifax
Eastleigh and Maidenhead (maybe)
Chester and Macclesfield

Which leaves Boreham Wood, Sutton, Solihull and ourselves battling over the scraps. Boreham Wood v Sutton as it least partially local, so we get the bum deal of Solihull........

That's a damn shame, Plainmoor78. Since Lincoln and York have sadly left the league, I have been looking for an alternative fixture to take in during a weekend break. I visited Chester last season, and Gravesend, Hartlepool and Leyton aren't ideal for cultural trips away.

Barrow are playing Wrexham over the festive period, Jeff.

i plan on coming down for a week or so to take in preseason games. But if the fixture list is kind to us I would love to book a couple of weeks (not nec consecutive) to come down in Septemeber/Early October and take in some league games. i cant wait.
Apart from Chester I cant imagine anyone going to any away fixture for the culture. lol

It is bizarre that Solihull is our 3rd nearest team. Still reckon it's Eastleigh away

I have spoken to a Barrow director and it is a mutual request from both clubs.

I predict Torquay will play Eastleigh over the festive period.
