Does he have the contacts to spend it wisely?

I guess that's what we have Dave Hedges for now.

So don't worry! The whole point of someone in charge of recruitment is to have contacts and find footballers!

New under 23 striker brought in just in time for the Southport v Torquay game.

Unfortunately he has just received international clearance to play for Southport!😞

Fat Harrop is running the show, Mike.

Had a few dealings with Harrop in the past re; youth dept, don't know the man if I'm being honest, but found him to be someone who's quite at home telling people what he thinks they want to hear, rather than the truth. What he says in public and actually thinks in private are not always the same.

Ask him if there's money for players, will KN receive full backing amongst other things, he'll answer you, but word of warning his answer may or may not be true.

Here we go. The big shoot out between the two main attractions on Planet Hopeless.

Fair Odds/Actual

Southport 2.66/2.44 (-13%)
Draw 3.5/3.25 (-10%)
Torquay 2.96/2.78 (-9%)

No value to be had at all. Southport have lost their last three home games 0-1/1-4/2-4. Prior to that though they did beat Eastleigh and Wrexham at home. In their last eight home games they have conceded 21 goals.

With two teams shorn of confidence the first goal could perhaps be important here. There are no angles at all to bet on - the losers of this game don't appear to have anywhere to hide,.

That is a very optimistic view. A goal! Cannot really see how either of these serial none-achievers are going to conjure up a goal, even with two inept defences doing their best to assist.

0-0

When GI arrived on the scene I was prepared to give them the benefit of the doubt until such time as they were officially ratified by the League as owners of the Club and their subsequent actions would show their intentions.
This has now come about and the statement this week that they back Nicholson and are prepared to give 'a llittle bit of extra funding' really shows their hand. If ever drastic action was required it is now before it is too late. This pathetic sop to the fans is nothing short of an insult and shows their true intentions.
They obviously have no regard for the playing side of the Club and money is all conquering to them.
The sole reason Nicholson was not sacked, which he admitted he was expecting himself, is because they would have to pay him off.
The future of Torquay United looks very bleak indeed even after today's uninspiring win over the bottom club.

Totally agree!! Been saying this for months but few agree unfortunately (well on here anyway). They are voting with their feet a bit with the gate at about 1400.

I said Nicho would not be sacked because it would cost them weeks ago. Some bright spark on here, gave us all a lesson on contracts. Doesn't matter if its only 5k they don't want to spend nothing. They got money for Blisset, that has gone on Harrods wages no doubt so they havnt invested didly squat yet. Still hoping they prove me wrong, but cant see it.

The football club (first team) is basically dead! There might be an academy, that's to try and win over a few gullible fans to keep enough on side to pay the rent and wages.

Looking forward to the estimated costs of bringing in the "season saving loan players". 😐

We got out of jail against Southport without them however we won't be that lucky over the next few games!
