Luke's knee injury

The OS has posted a couple of items (possibly following some prompting for news). In the latest, Gareth Law comments on the outcome of the scan:

Luke Young has injured his medial collateral ligament (MCL) of his right knee and the MRI scan will identify the extent/grade of the injury.
The grade of the injury will determine the period Luke will be side-lined for and if any other interventions are required.
The club will know the results of the MRI scan by the end of the week.
We would like to thank the staff at the radiology department at Mount Stuart Hospital for the speed of their response. The players appreciate the swift diagnosis and it helps speed up the process of producing an injury management plan.

Is that the same injury that kept him out of most of last season?

A knee ligament injury is still pretty worrying news though, and we'll likely be without him for a while. There's not too many fixtures coming up, and perhaps only York away that we have a reasonable chance to win before the New Year, as Dagenham and FGR twice is a pretty tough ask. However the worry is that he'll be out well into next year if it's a bad injury to knee ligaments.

According to tonights commentary, Young was spoken to tonight and states he expects bad news on the injury. Looking like a long spell out.

Gareth Law just confirmed on twitter Young will be out for 'the majority' of the season after rupturing his medial ligament. Gutted for him and us.

Two serious knee injuries in two years (the left and now the right) is truly unfair and comes at a time when he was just hitting full pace as well.

You'll really be missed over the next few months, Luke.

A hell of a knock back, but a brave, strong character.

Best wishes for a full and quick recovery.

Liked the words that Kevin Nicolson said on the subject, there are more important things than football.

I forgot to say I heard Nicholson say on the radio before the game on saturday that Young would be starting contact as of next week. He then went on to say that he has a slight chance to be in the squad against Maidstone
