Not sure how accurate this is, but I think I thought we would be higher, although understandable why we are so low after this season.

As it happens, I updated the main page of the website last night with all our figures for 2013/14 - for both the home/away breakdown at Plainmoor and how many we took away.
http://www.torquayfans.com/attendances/
That's the overview of the last 5 years, and if you click the links you can see them all broken down. For last season we took:
Morecambe 125 (est)
Northampton 252
Fleetwood 160
Rochdale 127
Newport 460
Wycombe 255
Burton (Tuesday) 180
Bury 157
Accrington 123
Scunthorpe 148
Dagenham & Redbridge 176
Plymouth (Bank Holiday) 888
AFC Wimbledon 402
Oxford 322
Portsmouth 741
Chesterfield 238
Hartlepool 91
Cheltenham 337
York (Tuesday) 174
Southend 163
Bristol Rovers 267
Exeter (Bank Holiday) 478
Mansfield 275
Total: 6539
Average: 284.30
Which did leave us 18th:
Portsmouth 1141
Chesterfield 750
Plymouth Argyle 748
Oxford United 710
Bristol Rovers 675
Rochdale 531
Mansfield Town 508
Bury 506
York City 504
AFC Wimbledon 499
Northampton Town 476
Scunthorpe United 455
Southend United 448
Newport County 416
Exeter City 396
Wycombe Wanderers 326
Hartlepool United 322
Torquay United 281
Burton Albion 247
Cheltenham Town 197
Fleetwood Town 179
Dagenham & Redbridge 143
Morecambe 134
Accrington Stanley 125
Our highest away average in recent times is 448 in 2011/12, which would have put us 13th this year, so not a huge rise. This season could have been one of our highest, had we been at the top of the league, we had a lot of local games and hardly any Tuesday nights in comparison to previous years, but our league position saw to that. 267 at Bristol, 888 at Plymouth and less than 500 at Exeter are far lower than we would take in normal circumstances.
Just for a comparison, this is the Conference for last season. If we got 284 again (Morecambe figure is an estimate at present) then we would be 5th, although you lose Luton, Chester and maybe Cambridge from there (and gain Bristol Rovers).
1086 Luton
414 Grimsby
384 Cambridge
350 Chester
280 Wrexham
270 Lincoln
257 Halifax
257 Aldershot
202 Hereford
189 Barnet
181 Kidderminster
132 Nuneaton
111 Macclesfield
109 Woking
88 Southport
85 Dartford
65 Salisbury
65 Alfreton
63 Welling
60 Forest Green
57 Gateshead
49 Tamworth
43 Braintree
36 Hyde

Which goes to show that, for all the talk (I suspect in a combination of solace, hope and stupidity) on the Rovers forum, that attendances are completely irrelevant. Be a 'big club' all you like, take 50,000 supporters to FGR all you like, give it a load of 'come and have a go' all you like, if you've not got the skills to pay the bills, you're not going to succeed.
