Three more games to go, before the name of March's Manager of the Month becomes clear and easy to predict. As things stand at present, the frontrunners are Martin Ling and Gillingham's Andy Hessenthaler.

Anyone care to predict the ultimate winner?

Well Swindon up next and probably the best possible time to go there.

Swindon go in to the game after a defeat while we go in to it on the back of a resounding away win, and whatever anybody says about taking one game at a time the Swindon players have half a mind on their White Emulsion Paint Pot Final at Wembley the following week and certainly won't want to get injured.

The OP by CG rightly said that if we won our next four games a win at Barnet would see us top irrespective of how other results went. The way it has panned out so far we would go top after the Port Vale game and a win at Barnet would open up a 5 points gap over Swindon!

Am I missing something? How can we go ahead of Swindon regardless of their results? We're 4 points behind, they have a game in hand and an insurmountable goal difference so effectively potentially and probably 8 points behind, so if we beat them that is still a 5 point deficit, not lead?? I must be missing something????

They haven't won their game in hand and whos to say they will? And goal difference is only an extra point when the teams have same points.. If we have more points than them we go above them, regardless to goal difference

We'll go ahead of them IF we beat them and then win our next game as they have a JPT final to play. They'll obviously still have their games in hand............

If we win our next two games, against Swindon and Port Vale, we shall go top, at least temporarily, because Swindon will be without a league game next weekend (playing at Wembley in the JPT Final).

Couldn't give a toss about finishing top. All we need to do is put as much daylight between us and the fourth placed team as possible then it's job done. You get the same outcome for finishing second or third - promotion. To be top is obviously immense but we don't want to get pre-occupied with it.
Strangely enough it was Pope Gregory the 9th inviting me for drinks aboard his steam yacht, the saucy sue currently wintering in montego bay with the England cricket team and the Balanese Goddess of plenty.
