Full marks to Shaun Taylor

Post by Wisconsin_gull »

In an idle moment I took a quick check on the number of clean sheets managed amongst the top 5

Cheltenham 8H, 3A
Crawley 5H, 3A
Southend 5H, 3A
Swindon 9H, 3A

and wait for it...

Torquay 9H, 4A

Most clean sheets in top 5  , most clean sheets away from home.

Full marks to ST the defensive unit giving us the solid foundation to build from.

Crawley not doing so well, is this a sign that they may falter with the distractions of an extended FAC run?

Could we have a trio from SW getting the auto spots... :scarf: :scarf: :scarf:
At the kerb halt - look right - look left -look right again - if all clear quick march!

yes it really has been an amazing turn around in our defence, to think earlier in the season, at home the team shipped 3 against Crawley/Rotherham and were done for 5 against Gillingham, and now no one can seem to score against us at Plainmoor.

Just came across this excellent post : http://experimental361.wordpress.com/20 ... -league-2/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; which points out that the Gulls have faced more shots than anyone else in league 2, but are the most 'efficient' at keeping them out. Would rather see fewer shots, but something's working...

Good find SC

There is some interesting stuff on here

The analysis of teams running out of steam in the last 15mins shows how we used to capitulate last season - certainly something which ST and team have taken care of

The bloke responsible for this website is clearly a Torquay fan, anyone we know?

That would be me - I tweet Torquay match updates as @GreenwichGull (recently had a film made which is discussed in another post on this forum http://torquayfans.com/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=3706" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;-) and the @experimental361 stuff keeps me busy between matches : )

I'll be taking another look at goal times soon to see exactly how much we've improved...
