Devon Rivals Remain United

Post by TorquayFans.com »

Following on Devon Day last month, representatives of all three of the county’s clubs have once again been working together to support TUFC. Everyone at Plainmoor would like to begin by thanking Torquay United Community Sports Trust, who kindly donated £200 towards the Club’s fight for survival. Matt Anthony TUCST Manager said: “Being the Charitable Arm of Torquay United AFC, we straightaway wanted to do our bit to help the Club raise funds to support the short-term future of the Football Club, whilst we wait for updates on the long-term future of Torquay United AFC. “As we are a small charitable organisation, our own finances are limited, but we hope this small donation can contribute in some way that helps. We have also donated two framed TUFC Shirts from the 2017/18 season that are signed by the full squad who were with the Club at the time so hopefully these can be auctioned off with all of the proceeds going straight back to Torquay United AFC. “We do have a few more ideas in which we’d like to help the Club and our coaches are always working hard behind the scenes and on the ground to ensure Torquay United AFC is still at the heart of the Torbay Community.” Image In addition to making a donation of their own, after meeting with their counterparts at Exeter City, the Community Trust at St James Park gave The Gulls another boost, by purchasing a number of tickets for United’s final home game of the season via their Trust Community Working Group / City For All initiative, with TUCST then donating these tickets to members of the local community. TUFC would like to thank both Community Trusts for working together on this project for the benefit of both the Football Club itself, and also members of the local community. Not to be outdone, supporters from our other Devon neighbours, Plymouth Argyle, also stepped in to help boost United’s fundraising efforts, with members of the Club’s Senior Greens supporters group passing a donation of £85 onto the Torquay United Supporters Trust, to go towards TUFC meeting its essential running costs during the current period. Thanks to all the Senior Greens for their support! Image Donating To Torquay United On behalf of everyone here at Plainmoor, the Club would like to express its heartfelt gratitude and thanks for everyone that continues to the time to contact us in order to offer their support. A number of supporters have also generously donated funds in order to help assist the Club via our designated PayPal Donation Page. We cannot express enough how much your efforts mean to everyone at Plainmoor at this testing time. If you would like to make a donation to help keep YOUR Football Club alive, please click on the link HERE It should be stressed that all donations received by this method will only be used to ensure essential operating costs are met, and to help the Club continue to function as a professional football club.   Thank you once again to the Yellow Army, to opposition clubs, and to all members of the public who continue to do so much to assist us at this time. The post Devon Rivals Remain United first appeared on Torquay United.
