With the Yellow Army having already taken great pride in the inclusion of no less than five of the current U18 squad within Torquay’s first-team squad this season, Robbie went on to explain how a healthy crowd at Plainmoor for the final can help push the team onto even greater heights against Bridgwater. “We’re hoping we’ll get a decent crowd coming in to support the players and the team, it will be a great occasion for them, and we are looking forward to it. “It would be fantastic. It should give them a bit more energy, a little bit more passion and enthusiasm, which they should have anyway, but it might make them strive that little bit harder to get the win.” With TUFC blessed to be able to call upon a number of committed staff and volunteers throughout the whole of their youth department, Herrera paid tribute to U18s Manager Kevin Wills, Assistant Manager Paul Bishop and Youth Physio Bess Ashworth, who all continue to work hard behind the scenes in a bid to sees the Club’s stars of the future flourish. “They’ve been fantastic, Kev has continued the work that Ryan Dickson started from last season, and you’ve got Paul Bishop, who is fantastic around the place and would do anything for anybody to help out, and he’s great for the lads as well. Then of course, you have Bess who looks after the injuries – we’ve had a fair few injuries and knocks this season – and she’s managed to get them back in double-quick time. “They’ve all done fantastically well for us.”
