Everyone at Torquay United would like to send their heartfelt thanks to Weymouth FC, ahead of the clash between the two sides on Saturday 2nd March (3pm KO). Following a meeting last week, the Weymouth FC Board of Directors, in conjunction with the Weymouth FC Supporters Association, decided in a show of support towards both the Club and the Yellow Army to donate £5 from every away ticket sold to TUFC, in order to help fund playing and backroom staff wages whilst the search for a new owner continues. Just over fifteen years ago, the Dorset club were threatened with extinction themselves, and although they have gone on to survive – and thrive – since, they are no doubt well aware of the uncertainty facing United’s players, staff and supporters at this time. This heartwarming offer, though unexpected, is hugely appreciated by everyone at Plainmoor, and we would like to express our heartfelt gratitude once again to all at Weymouth FC for all the kindness they have shown towards our Football Club.
