[OS] Important Reminder To Supporters Regarding Pyrotechnics

Post by TorquayFans.com »

TUAFC is issuing a reminder of the dangers of pyrotechnics & smoke bombs, and the consequences for those found to be in possession of them. With Football’s governing bodies, in conjunction with the Football Supporters’ Association, continuing to warn of the serious dangers of pyrotechnics within football stadiums, supporters are reminded that anyone found in possession or using any such devices will be subject to not only a Club ban, but will also be reported to the police. Despite the obvious risk of serious injury including burns and breathing problems, in addition to presenting a major fire hazard, there have been continued instances of pyrotechnics such as flares, smoke bombs, and fireworks being used within football stadiums throughout the country. TUAFC wishes to make it clear to all our supporters that it is illegal to bring any form of pyrotechnic or smoke bomb into football stadia, and with new measures & sanctions being introduced this season to tackle anti-social & criminal behaviour within football, there will be serious consequences for anybody who decides to ignore these repeated warnings. For the avoidance of doubt, the Club wishes to confirm that anyone caught possessing or using pyrotechnics will be reported to the police, with any subsequent prosecution potentially leading to a permanent criminal record. The pitch MUST remain a safe environment for players, managers and match officials, whilst the stands MUST equally remain a safe one for supporters to cheer their team on from. Torquay United AFC pledges its full backing to the ‘Love Football. Protect The Game.’ campaign, whilst also taking the opportunity to thank all of our loyal supporters for their continued support of the team, home and away, this season. The post Important Reminder To Supporters Regarding Pyrotechnics first appeared on Torquay United.
