Slough Manager post match talk..18 months into his first job and just 35. Knew exactly what was needed to open us up and fully aware of our chaotic season. He was clear articulate and tactically aware of his team’s strengths and our weaknesses. We will be here next season with possibly Southend and Woking…and the teams that have already beaten us in this league. There are better managers out there as we keep finding out. NLS is going to become the new normal.

I cannot remember ever going to Plainmoor and seeing the visitors score a total of 15 goals in 4 consecutive games. Johnson and Downes should be ashamed of themselves. This is unprofessional and the both know it.

Stats do not lie. Excluding the bottom 4 teams only Dartford have 14 losses the same as Torquay!!

Excluding the bottom 4 teams we have conceded 54 goals more than any other team that is 19 teams. In 31 games we have had 5 clean sheets and 2 of those were in the first month of the season. We are going from poor to very bad quickly.

If Osborne digs his heels in and refuses to change Johnson and Downes then they have to work out a better formation and decide to do whatever it takes to make us harder to score against.

Worthing are 2nd but have conceded 48 goals the 5th worst ignoring the bottom 4. However they have scored 72 goals 11 more than Yeovil thanks to Ollie Pearce with 29 goals.

What we lack most is experience in the back four. Just 2 experienced guys could make a huge difference. Time is running out.

Johnson hasn't got a clue how to assemble a defence,
never has. He inherited a good back line from Owers, (the only thing Owers could get right) with Cameron,
Wynter, Davis etc and was fortunate in our play off season than one of his young loanees came up trumps
- the outstanding Sherring. If his midfield and attack can't play the way he wants with high energy pressing and ours certainly can't this season a weak back line is a recipe for disaster.

The best defences in NLS are Chelmsford conceded 30 goals and Yeovil, Bath and Braintree conceded 33 each.

That's purely down to how we play though, not poor defenders. We don't get bent out of shape about conceding goals because inviting the opposition onto us is precisely how we gain all the space to exploit at the other end. Its the new 'Keeganism'.

Even flippin' Dover scored four yesterday

You could sign two worldie centrehalves, if you don't change the game plan, it won't improve much.

Its all academic though. In truth the football should be of little or no importance to Gulls fans given what's going on with the owner and the ground. Do nothing and it won't be long before you'll yearn for the days when defensive fragility was your biggest issue :(

The good news is that we've only got 6 more games to endure at Plainmoor this season. Can't wait for this God awful season to be over.
The bad news is that Johnson will say he will turn it around next season . He needs to sign virtually a whole team and get them to gel quickly, compete and play proper football like the 3 teams who have just embarrassed us.
Anybody got faith he can do that ? Not me.

"What we lack most is experience in the back four. Just 2 experienced guys could make a huge difference. Time is running out." What an erudite appraisal of the problem and its solution!
There are not many guys still playing who have more experience than Moxey, but presumably you don't consider him to be part of the back four (maybe he isn't fast enough to get back from the half-way line so you regard him as a mid-fielder.) The difference that two more experienced guys are likely to make is that there will be no-one in the defence young enough to bend sufficiently to retrieve the ball from the back of the net.

The only topic of discussion going forward needs to be about Osborne being ousted, it's that simple. Matters on the pitch are a mere symptom of the root cause of the issues. Fixing the results on the pitch will not fix the trajectory towards utter demise the club is on. Supporting and making noise for the players, will not fix results or the demise of the club.

Uniting on this one issue and being pro active and relentless, might give us a chance of saving the ground and ensuring a Phoenix Club can step in and have a ground to play on in the future.
The form on the pitch needs to be understood as a distraction and divide tactic, much like the recent breaking news about new stadium intentions, the online fans forum, and the steering group. All distractions from the true agenda. Are you (all of you) one who is going to apathetically swallow it and go along with it, or are you going to put up a real fight for our Club and our Stadium.

Whilst we had the vile Priestnall in charge, we were going nowhere but down. Like your owner, he was not interested in the success of the club and wanted to make money from the land. We are lucky to have a new owner who supports the club, and hey what a difference that makes. I fear you are going nowhere until you cut the cancer out of your club.
