Read my post properly next time sunshine.
I didn't apologise for anyone.
Merely stating facts.

I expected a nervous torquay and first half we certainly got it, the opposition were not the worst team I have seen at plainmoor this season by any means. Dover did not have a lot up front but a well oiled defence which they needed with their keeper, we had a less than convincing defence and less in attack, I do not understand the tactics when you put little Ash up front alone and foyo sits on the bench when he could add some muscle and create some space for ash. Archer, if we hadnt already signed him I would have suggested that part of any loan agreement was that we had to play him every game, but the truth and as kind as I can be he is out of his depth. I agree we had at least two good penalty shouts if not three, Mcgavin what can you say, a brilliant goal and if he had pace he would be playing in the league. I will take the three points but we better be a lot better come tuesday.

Great to get a win and 3 points.

Not a great game but after recent defeats I was pleased to get a win.

Referee must be a relative of Simon Mather not to spot one or two penalties.

Let’s hope there are no new injuries and we can improve the standard on Tuesday.

Archer out of his depth ? 🤔 Funny how people see the game differently. Couldn't fault the effort , battling and fighting spirit today, dominated the second half, and played some good stuff, just couldn't get another goal or two against a packed defence. Dover fought very hard , better than Eastbourne who we let steal a point.

Is that from the same source who told you Ash was on the bench today :-/

Good to win but my goodness wasn't it dour. Got home and watched the Brentford game. I know the level is light years away but what would I give to see an exciting, exhilarating game like that at Plainmoor. We've had em before but not for a very long time. I truelly have to drag myself to games these days and seem to endure rather than enjoy. Sadly we are a very poor side.

With a bit of luck it could have been 2 or 3 and don't want to sound like Johnson but there are no easy games ! Dover fought very hard for their new manager and in fact only 2 of their last 23 games have been decided by more than one goal. No mugs ! Oh sorry !
We need to take that sort of commited performance with a bit more quality into our away games which is not happening. We just don't seem to turn up at away
matches

In his post match interview Johnson says the club is as much his as it is the fans because he's been hear a long time.
Christ he's been a paid employee for five years, there are fans in attendances who can recall the O'Farrell era. Where does the man's arrogance end and his humility begin.

I was at Plainmoor yesterday and in my opinion we were much the better side but nonetheless the overall quality was poor and once again we are indebted to an incredible strike from 35 yards by Brett McGavin. What a goal!

De Silva played very well and I feel he is improving all the time and becoming a bigger threat. He has pace and trickery.

I was pleased for Dan Martin who had a very good game and with Deano alongside Tomlinson we looked better balanced at the back.

The next two games away will prove one way or another if we are good enough to finish 2nd which realistically must be our target now.

All about opinions I guess, I thought other than two mazy runs that came to nothing, Desilva offered little in defense or attack. I thought Archer looked far stronger at holding the ball up and running at players.

Also thought Martin ran up and down the pitch a lot, defensively looked ok (didn't have much to do) but offered little going forward. Just back from numerious issues, so hopefully can only get better.

Lapslie helped the midfield look more stable in it's defending and attacking.

I agree we looked the better side, but against the opposition that isn't saying much, Dover were hard working but limited, you can see why they only lose 1-0 in games.

For me what Johnson appears to be alluding too is despite the pressures to win every match he is still committed to the cause and enjoys his work and time at Torquay. Even though he is a paid employee that commitment ought to be commendable, There was a time when loyalty was supposed to mean something. There’s no getting away from the fact we are in a battle for promotion this season, but the picture is clear in terms of what Johnsons wants to try and achieve, and it’s a challenge. To this end, how would sacking an experienced manager like some expendable pawn push the club further forward other than having more pressure heaped upon the next poor sucker to remain in a play-off spot and guarantee us promotion to satisfy entitled fans. Just saying!
