Whether the manager is doing a good job or not will be decided at the end of the season when we know whether we have been promoted or not.

The way the play offs are structured means that we will have to finish second to guarantee us home advantage.

Anything else with our miserable away record, and we look to have no realistic chance of winning 2 or 3 away games to gain promotion.

Losing 10 games already, being lower than Bath City and being on a par with Averley (as well as blowing any chance of Automatic promotion by Xmas) doesnt indicate
to me that the manager is up to much.

My expectations are Promotion via the automatic place or Playoff final winners.
Both seem for the birds.

while this is undoubtedly true, it says quite a lot that Ross Marshall is our bestright back. There are other similar examples in the 14 almoastr starters; Ollie Tomlinson has been very good this season but pre-season we all felt that our defence was where we were weak, and that has not changed.

Purely out of interest, I would like to know what people think is our best eleven, from players currently at the club.

My team would be.....

Halstead

Marshall
Tomlinson
Moxey
Harris

Stobbs
Lapslie
McGavin
Dawson

Hall
Jarvis

Whether all these players will ever be available on the same day is a totally different topic!

Im stunned you think Hall can bring anything to this team

his legs were gone last season, it was nonsense to give him a new contract, he may reappear once more this season but it wil be for a few games then he'll be out again

and Dawson in that team wouldnt be playing wide

I didn't say Dawson would be playing wide. He would be central. In that line up Harris would need to push forward from left back, and could also play on the left of a midfield five if we switched to 3-5-2.

I would play Hall as a target man, something we have missed since Nouble, and would save his legs as he approaches the veteran stage. I believe he is better than Jarvis in this role and would allow Jarvis to run free, using his pace to run in behind the opposition back line. Hall is also our best finisher so playing up front would provide him with more chances.

Our injury situation is not current news , the manager will be aware give or take when he anticpates players returning and according to last weeks press conference they were actively looking for replacements, this week he states its all on the doctors but we are still looking, but competition for players is fierce. Working on previous instances Johnson has probably had two or three on trial for the week, which always surprises me because if you have previously identified these players as suitable why do they need them to be trialled. Even at the press conference if he said we have signed a couple for a month but I am not telling you who because its my secret and you and the opposition do not need to know, you just turn up on saturday and keep quiet until I tell you to be noisy would be marginally better than saying naught.

Why does Mr Johnson need to keep the identity of any signings covert?

I'm sure that it won't make one iota of difference to the tactics or formation adopted by the opposition.

Based on the quality of signings over the past two seasons, any new recruits are unlikely to be stellar!!
