Well to all you doubters just watch the highlights carefully and you will see how close we came to winning 4-1 or better.

We were desperately unlucky on numerous occasions and if you watch closely when Jarvis scores the defender drops to his knees when he realises the ball is over his head. The dark arts of pro football.

When Gateshead equalise No.15 barges Halstead on the line, no attempt to play the ball, and Bailey scores from the loose ball. Any competent ref would have disallowed this goal for a blatant foul on the keeper.

Watch No 15 when the goal is given because he knows his foul on the keeper resulted in the goal!!!

We didnt win 4-1 though - we've dropped another 2 points. The foul is on Ellis actually. Irrespective of that Halstead has to do better - its weak goalkeeping and its cost us.

One win in 13 - its relegation form.

Watched their goal again, so do poor from Halstead! Jumped with his hands below his head expecting it to fall in his hands. The ball was in the air for an age! McDonald would have punched that long clear! Put your blinking hand through it!!

Poor defence and he isn’t helping (despite a marked improvement from last year - bit then that isn’t hard!)

Agree with Brucie - that’s cost us 2 points despite having nothing to do most of the game! Good goalkeepers are ready when called upon!

In those conditions Halstead should have punched it.
Their keeper punched everything- but it never seemed to fall to our players.

Sorry but that's a foul on the goalkeeper however you look at it , especially in this day and age. Halstead has plenty of time to catch it how he wants until their player comes charging in with no intention of playing the ball which he has no hope of doing anyway. If you want a clue watch their players turn and look at the referee as they run away, ref actually hesitates for a second before giving it. He was incompetent throughout and capped his display by giving that goal.

I think we can all agree it was probably a foul and on another day given, but it wasn't. Therefore it cost us two points. A few extra points here and there still leaves us in the bottom few.

Let's get real, we are in deep trouble, by moaning we don't let out of this. By highlighting the odd foul, we are all beginning to sound like Gary's interviews.

Sorry but there goal was not a foul, you had a defender waiting for a shout from the keeper so half heartedly waiting for a punch from the keeper to come so not attacking the ball, and the keeper waiting for the ball and not attacking the ball, just punch the ball out, So yes the goal counts there player wanted it more than are two, simply.

Not only a foul on Halstead, he fouled Ellis too. 99 of 100 refs would never have allowed that . You're back in the 1950s if you think that's a fair goal.

I thought we played well, especially in those conditions. Sounds crazy when you see our league position.
We did try to play the ball around and use our wingers to attack. One outstanding save by their keeper, two attempts that just seemed to not want to cross the line and numerous half chances.
Gateshead came for a point, but looked very dangerous when they started looking for the equaliser. Once they had, they settled back for the point again.
You don't get bad luck in so many games, but I felt we should have won comfortably. Luck/poor finishing/poor choices, no idea tbh.

Watched the Gateshead goal Live and many times in the highlights......Foul for sure....but Halstead has to do better for sure.
MacDonald would have dealt with that better.....once again in a key position we are left wanting and needing better.

The fact is he was barged over the line by one of their players which allowed another player to tap it in and that's not a clear foul ????

Is there a referee on this forum able to give a definitive answer ?
