Torquay United v Dagenham & Redbridge Sat 8 Jan KO3pm

Post by portugull »

United host the Daggers on the back of 4 wins in the last 5 which is similar to Dagenham so a good game is in prospect.

Great news today with the arrival of Stephen Wearne on loan from Sunderland for the rest of the season.

This will be tough as the Daggers have scored 43 goals in 22 games and are the top scorers in the National League.

In the Top 12 they have conceded the most goals, 27, so lets hoe we can win 2-1 which seems to be our favourite winning score as we have won 4 games by this score since 13th November. COYY

Game in doubt? Lots of rain over the last 24 hours.

Need to keep the form going, two weeks off after this.

1-1

Can't see it being off. Pitch in good order and drains well. A far cry from when we shared with Truro in the NLS!!! Still buzzing from Yeovil so full of optimism!!! Players coming back so expect a strong bench too!! Guess the Bournemouth fans are getting wet today at Yeovil!!! Know how that feels!!!

Portugull, your usually accurate, how the hell did he get injured he hasnt played for two weeks, or is that your diplomatic way of saying he is on his way.

FT 2-2.
would have taken a point before the game as D&R are a form team.
shame that we couldn't hold on, but a good point.
think tbh we'd have lost that game a few months ago......

Gutted that we couldn't hold onto a 2-0 lead. Were just too inconsistent to make the playoffs unfortunately.

We could and probably should have been 3-4 up after 20 min. D & R were all over the place , they couldn't get to grip with the conditions and our formation and the speed and intensity. After that 20min it was like we blew ourselves out and it was all D & R. We had a few counter attacks until HT. 2nd half D & R gave us a football lesson. We were all over the place and hanging on. We did get a few counter attack opportunities but we were lucky to hang on tbh.
Considering the poor playing conditions D & R are the best attacking side I ve seen at Plainmoor this season.
A mention to Shaun M who made some fine saves and also Lewis and Moxey with some last ditch defending and blocks.
There were certainly a few calamity moments which i guess on that pitch was quite comical.

A good point in the end. We started well mastering the conditions. Dagenham look a good resilient side and deserved the point. They could have won it for about 15 mins or so after they equalized but we could have snatched it in the last 5 mins or so when we had 3 forwards on the pitch.
Rumour was that Armani has been the subject of a bid and that is why he wasn’t playing??
For me this is where Gary Johnson needs to explain to the supporters what has happened.
Mind you with the stick that Armani was getting earlier on I wouldn’t blame him for moving on if he feels unwanted and gets an offer from elsewhere ( sometimes be careful what you wish for)
