New Kit

Post by Kingsgull83 »

Looks like the club have accidents posted their kits on the website and quickly taken them down.
What do you think?

The turquoise top looks like a t-shirt. Training top?

In these times , when money is scarce, I do not understand the lack of a front of shirt sponsor. Surely, someone would give us some money to advertise here.

How much do you think we would get for a front short sponsor and who would we attract?
The club and pro direct have made a decision to make kits that look more appealing and will sell more without a sponsor. Personally I think if we have ‘Sparkworld’ or ‘mod dec’ windows on a kit it cheapens it and is less appealing. I can only assume we sell allot more of the 1899 shirts to make up for the the lack of sponsor.
Some good marketing by the club

Maybe pro direct are in conjunction with Nike, financing the shirt 'sponsorship' with the 1899 logo .
As mentioned logos such as sparkworld, mod dec skatestore et al are fine firms but do have a tendency to 'cheapen' the shirts image
We'll never know the full extent of the deal TUFC have struck with pro direct but it's pretty obvious both parties are benefiting.
And in all honesty at 54 years old I for one am happy I haven't got ' Percy's pizza ' or ' Larry's launderette ' plastered all over my chest on a Saturday afternoon mind you my granddaughter wanted to know why I had my birth date on my football shirt when she saw my black centenary shirt ! I'll forgive her as she's only 7.

Shirt sponsors always 'date' the shirt, too. is Rotolok still a thing? Or Candy? (on a Liverpool shirt; I think they made washing machines).

if we could get somebody to give us £1m a year for the fort of shirt sponsorship, I'd happily let them say "Exeter" on the front, but nobody is doing that, so this could be the best approach.

The home one is a shocker.
Why not keep the excellent ones from this (last) season?

Because then people wouldn't have a reason to buy one, duh.
