FA Cup 1st Round Draw - Who do you want?

Post by SuperNickyWroe »

Great win yesterday against a difficult team.
So, fellow posters, who do you want in the draw tomorrow night?
For purely selfish reasons I'd love York away! (They beat a very poor Stockport side last night)
However, do quite like the idea of Sunderland away too!

A bye is my vote as well! Or just a winnable tie. I'd rather see us get to round 3 and get a giant than get a big side like Sunderland now. More prize money and gate £ the reason for me!

Full FA Cup Draw Details and Ball Numbers below. The 'BYE' I guess should be everyone's choice, receive the prize fund, progress and give the players a weekend off. However, we will not be that lucky, so lets see. . . . . . . .

The Emirates FA Cup first round draw will be broadcast live on BBC Two from 7.10pm on Monday 21 October.

The draw will be conducted by Karen Carney and Jermaine Beckford and will take place at Maldon & Tiptree.

The 32 non-League clubs that progress from the fourth round qualifying will be joined by 47 clubs from Leagues One and Two.

Due to Bury FC’s removal from the English Football League and subsequently the Emirates FA Cup, there will be an odd number of clubs entering the draw.

As a result, the final club left in the draw, that isn’t drawn to play in a tie in the first round, will receive an automatic bye to the second round and will also receive the prize fund payment applicable for the first round.

The first round is scheduled for the weekend of Saturday 9 November with winning clubs collecting £36,000 from The FA prize fund.

If we can't have the bye, like SNW says, "for purely selfish reasons", Chichester away!

Nantwich or Stourbridge away would work well for me selfishly! However, Stourbridge are basically a Conference North side in waiting with some really good players, good support and a ground that is tough to play at. Maybe Maldon and Tiptree (genuinely never heard of them) at home to give us a good chance of progress?

Don't count your chickens too early, Mr. midlandgull. Whitby will be at Stourbridge on Monday night (though I must admit I'm not very hopeful).

Very true! Stourbridge are super strong at home in the cup though! I think it is crazy the fixture is tomorrow night, so soon after Saturday - will it have an impact on any Whitby players not being able to get off of work in time?
