Play-off Winners?!

Post by Bloggy »

Does anyone have a preferred team to get promoted alongside us into the National League for next season?
Concord seem to be the form team entering the last phase of the season but whilst losing four Southern based teams from the National, there's a part of me hoping that Bath City make it!

Bath for me!!! Nice away day. Woking probably deserve it over the season and got back on track today. Not sure I would like to be in the position of St Alban's or Gloucester, possibly playing in the National league North. I think they are the most northerly teams. Maybe?

Bath for exactly the same reason lol

Realistically I don’t think bath will go up, Bath seem to be in a rut, they have a lot of experience there and that’s essentially their problem. Should they go up the older players from Bristol city rovers and Torquay come to that would probably be shown the door

You can rule out Concord, they are out of playoffs after failing to meet ground grading requirements. The team finishing 4th will now advance straight to the SF. My preference is Bath, purely selfish reasons, my Mother is from Bath, I`ve family in Bath and the son of one of my closest friends plays for Bath first team. Come on Romans haha.

Concord FC Directors and Manager knew back in Feb they were ineligible for the play-off but decided not to tell the players. You could not make this up - they spent a heap of money on enticing ex-National League players to sign up this season to give them a great chance of appearing at the top end the league. Yet they spend not a penny on ground improvement, namely 500 seats within the stadium (of which they already have 375) to be eligible for the play offs and possible promotion. Bet the players are pissed off - their on a road to nowhere with that club. Above all you have to feel sorry for the poor supporters who have spent their hard earned cash in the vague hope of success which once attained is harshly taken away from them by the incompetence of the Board of Directors.

Anybody else have any view on this subject.

Bath for me please, let's get as many south west derbies as possible, it'll be bad enough going to Hartlepool, Gateshead, Barrow etc etc

I might very well go to Hartlepool and Harrogate next term; they are quite convenient for me (or even Blyth in the remote possibility that they get in the play-offs and win). Gateshead's a bit far, though and my Old Codger stage of life.

Would like it to be Bath, for the away day and another Westcountry side. Hopefully not Woking, as I don't remember beating them in years, but that would at least be a spicier fixture given the rivalry this season.

I would like Chorley to go up from the North. Always liked them since I lived in Lancaster and watched them at the Giant Axe. Would like to go there for a Torquay game.
