Player Search - Who Will Turn Up?

Post by nickbrod »

There are trials today and tomorrow with around 28 players turning up to see if anyone's worth signing. What about prolific strikers like Brandon Goodship from Weymouth - 30+goals this season-or Levi Landricombe who's scored a remarkable 100 goals in 123 appearances for Tiverton? Or some strong hardman to lead in midfield? Let's hope there are a few gems to be found.

Sounds promising I'm not sure when the best time for recruitment is but seems positive if we are starting the search now and hopefully we get some targets signed up asap.
No doubt if we are going to be promotion contenders we will need to have a pre season where we are on the money from the get -go

Well, if we mean businesses then there's no time like the present, strike whilst the irons hot, you don't sit at the front of a queue all day & then hold the door open for all & sundry to walk past you & pick off the best bits do you.

I'm surprised Brandon Goodship is at Weymouth tbh. Wasn't he on loan at Yeovil a few years back if i recall rightly? Be a good addition IMO.

Well he (Goodship) definitely wont be there as he will be involved in the play offs for Weymouth tomorrow! Of course, if Weymouth win the play off final, then they will be competing with us next season in National League South!

As for Goodship, doubt very much he will be with Weymouth next season as there are rumoured to be League clubs interested - although the only firm interest has come from Eastleigh a couple of months back - but their impending change of ownership may be about to change the situation there, who knows?

Landricombe strikes me as a more realistic target, but would be surprised if he is amongst any trialists - who are more likely to be made up of players without clubs and free to sign for whoever they want.

According to tonight's DevonLive Owers is in further talks with Elliott Romain; if he could be persuaded to join he would be a big bonus.

Why do people keep on about Landricombe. he is at Tiverton for a reason ie he isn't good enough.

He is at Tiverton for a reason ie he isn't good enough. Anyway Levi Landrcombe is a daft name and that's where we have been going wrong.

What we need is to sign some players with good old English names. That's where we have been going wrong. We need a few decently named players. like John Smith, Micky Cave, Tommy Northcott, Alan Welsh, Mark Loram, Tommy Mitchinson, Reg Wyatt, John Benson, John Bond, Billy Kitchener.

That's why we used to have a good team with proper players with proper names.

And now you want to sign Brandon **** Goodship-Lollipop. Strewth do me a favour he won't be any good - he hasn't got a proper name.

You won't find a Jazzi Barnum Bob or Jose Mateu-Pinto amongst the proper players I have mentioned.

And you wonder why we got relegated. Guy Ganabouyou - he hopped off without a by your leave. Jennison Myrie-Williams. Double Barrelled Useless Tosser. Rory Fallon - I mean Rory. Friggin Nancy Boy name that is if ever there was one.

Even the manager has a proper name - so I'm hoping for better things next season. I mean no wonder Conrad Balatoni didn't last long - what sort of name is that?
